My home-run desktop can rival or surpass what you get for a decent hosted server, and running three to five servers doesn't cost hardly any cpu, and fair amount of ram but is nowhere near maxed out. Most lag is client-side.
I could be wrong, but from what I can tell:
You can't run the same client-side jar on present mobile devices. Even an an iphone comes nowhere close without a teeny tiny map and a major code optimization. This is just a dream for now.
That means my solution is the only one working. :biggrin.gif:
wouldnt work on Ipod touch/ipad/iphone. might work on nintendo DS (it has a lack of a joystick. you need a joystick to look around. just look at the control scheme for s FPS on a ps3/360.) would probably work on PSP (it has a joystick).
but there would need to be a way to sign in from the PC user database because i do not want to pay twice for the same game...
EDIT: but graphic-wise, it would run on everything. small texture files and everything is square...
