Everyone has probably been in this type of situation:
(Image is edited before posted here, you can now clearly see the amplifying effect on your headache)
The Problem: Can't move because of all the animals.
The Solution: Remember the script that makes the animal flee when you hit it ? How about attaching this to some item just like wheat, but then the opposite.
The code's there, but to be honest I'm not crafty enough to think of which existing item it would best suit it's purpose.
So to be absolutely clear about what the idea is, here a clarifying illustration:
Then it would be even harder to chase animals, and it's not necessary because you hardly find those large animal groups.
But if it's gonna be implemented, you should use some type of a horn to let them run away.
[EDIT]: Fix'd :smile.gif: I didn't understand you right.
Okay, so meat would make animals fear you? Good idea! But I would almost never use it, I would just mow them down with my sword (i'm not saying that it shouldn't be added).

Be caring, please help my dragon hatch by giving him a little click.
This will complete the secondary stage of the movement speed while using the meat dispersion shield. Grab wheat then repellant. Make tons of animals surround you, every time you move, use the repellant. If you get near a creeper, switch back to wheat to re-stabilize meat shield.
Uh, no, sorry, I've never typed in "/spawnmob Cow 200" "for teh LOLZ" in my life. And so far as I know, the most number of animals in a spawned group has been 9, maybe 10 max, on a flat, almost wide-open space with good light levels. Never has it been more than this in a cramped, canyon-like area.
Furthermore, that picture is photoshopped badly. I didn't notice at first, but then the chicken's leg began sprouting from the cow's forehead and I noticed. If you can't provide a legitimate picture, who says this problem even exists?
That's amazing. Although I think the mojang crew arent going to do something that costs alot of time unless it's got >9000 replies to that one idea, so that they see that everyone likes it.
This's more like an time and cost effective solution to this detail.

Ok, a straight passage is not what that code does, but I wanted to share what came to my mind when I was thinking of this problem. :laugh.gif:
Thank you for reading my idea, and hope it might ever get somewhere!

[quote=Badgerz]You have to keep in mind that people are stupid.
[quote=Catelite]Just because you don't understand how something works, doesn't make it broken or pointless. >_<
this is just a workaround so that animals are afraid of you when you hold a particular item.
