This game is (for the most part) a survival builder game, but honestly? After about fifteen or twenty minutes into any world/server I have:
1: A house/hole in the wall
2: At least an iron sword and iron armor
3: Tons of food/a farm of some sort
There is no more "survival", at this point the only thing that will kill me is a ninja creeper, me falling into lava, or me falling to my death.
And yes I know there is that "hardcore" mode, but all that does is means as soon as I die I just restart, it doesn't actually make the game harder.
So my suggestion is to add a new setting for both single player and multiplayer Minecraft, which is Scaling. Essentially every 20-30 minutes everything gets harder, mobs are stronger (and more numerious), perhaps night is longer too? You take damage easier, perhaps even ores are more difficult to find?
Just an idea for those of us who are missing the whole "surival" part of this game :3
Ores more difficult to find is impossible. But mobs increasing strength over time is good(as long as they do it very slowly cause playing for a year will kill you).

Of course! I totally forgot that the ores are already spawned when the server is generated D:
And of course, slowly increased strength, but I feel there needs to be more... survival, to this survival game.
Maybe a mob that has the ability to get in your house/through walls? (besides ender-teleporting.)
