The Nether is supposed to be harder than the overworld. In a way, it is (the lava). However, the only mobs are pig zombies (neutral), ghasts (easy to kill and easy to avoid), blazes (only in fortresses), and magma cubes (weak, rare, and slow).
The Nether needs some common hostile undead-type mobs. I'm thinking some kind of demon thing. They should have the ability to climb walls like spiders, and maybe some could have ranged attacks. Currently, it is rare that you die of mob attacks in the Nether unless someone starts a war against the normally peaceful pig zombies. Magma cubes are so slow and rare that they are not a problem. Ghasts never even hit you when they attack unless you move into their shots, and you can shoot them down with a bow easily (power I is a one-shot kill).
I don't think a Nether creeper is a good idea, but you guys can think about it if you want.

Retired StaffEdited OP. I agree, it just doesn't seem like Nether creepers would fit in.
