As you may already know, in the newest snapshot (12w04a), Jeb introduced a new tamable mob called the ozelot that is only found in the jungle biome.
It looks like this when you see it in the wild.
However, when it is tamed, their skin turns into cats like these:
I like the fact that cats are now in Minecraft, but I was a little disappointed by the fact that I couldn't have an awesome ozelot following me. I also find that a bit strange that they suddenly change into a different creature when they are tamed.
The way I think it should work is that they keep their ocelot skin when they are tamed but that when you breed them, the offspring would randomly be either one of the three kitten skins or the baby ocelot skin.
That way you would be able to have both cats ozelots to follow you around, without Jeb removing cats altogether as I have seen other people suggest.

Retired StaffFix:
Change one of the cat skins and you have your ocelot, however i still agree with you. i hate how cats cant stay though TOPIC GET.
Better idea.
Keep your house cats AND get awesome jungle warrior cats, in a much simpler manner than breeding them.
Not according to the wiki

It's ozelot in Swedish.
