Ok, so now minecraft has kinda a story. It needs cutscenes.
If you had a custom skin, the cutscene could somehow be instructed to use that instead of the normal steve skin. It would also use your current location. (well duh)
You can skip cutscenes by hitting space. You can view all of them from some menu somewhere. After you have unlocked them.
Event's that trigger cutscenes:
• Starting a new world
• Sleeping
• Killing your first mob
• Punching your first tree
• dying
• getting your first pet wolf
• killing the enderdragon
• mining coal, iron, etc. for the first time
• suggestions?
I don't like the idea.
Custscenes would make Minecraft feel too linear, and they're just not needed.
Besides, don't most people kill the Enderdragon with a bow?

Personally, I think the dragon-rising-into-the-air-and-exploding-with-beams-of-light is pretty awesome. It needs sound, yes, but it is still just fine the way it is.
Cutscenes would be weird in Minecraft; they just wouldn't fit. This isn't a Bethesda game.
(For the record that last comment is because I am assuming you got this idea from that slow-motion kill thingy that Skyrim/Fallout/all those other games do sometimes)

I support this, the people's arguments are basically nil. There can be an option to turn off cutscenes if you don't like them. But it would give you a sense of achievement while opening up a new way to mod minecraft. I do not think this will be implemented into the game, but I believe someone should make a mod out of this (minecraft is, in affect, meant to be kept simple. External sources are what is done for things like this.). Plus, what he suggested is that theres a cut-scene for the first time. Not continuously.

I am good at writing story's and the such, need help in that general area then just ask. No, I do not ask for money.
1. Cutscenes are based off triggers. Most of these events would be triggered after the event they are meant for actually occurs. It would be very difficult to have the game guess when you're about to do something, especially in a randomly generated world.
2. There's about 50-60 things they should implement that are more necessary for the game than cutscenes.
3. Enderdragon could die anywhere. It would be hard to get the cutscene right in a randomly generated world.
The plus sides-
It would be interesting if you could trigger a death cap. It wouldn't be instant, but after you die, you could respawn or you could turn to an outside angle of your body and watch the final moments of your death over as a replay. Other than that the rest of the ideas are pointless.

again, arguments pointless. This would be optional so if you don't like it it doesn't matter. AND it will nevre be implemented into minecraft as I said, but a mod is just fine (and sometimes notch uses mods to implement things).

I support this! This is awesome idea!
I want this to game!
There would be cutscenes for maybe all achievements!
I don't support the mining cutscenes, because every time you mine, same cutscene again and again..
Creeper cutscene would be nice, or first explode by creeper..
Ok let me rephrase that. I meant a cutscene THE FIRST TIME you discover an ore. It would show your guy looking and admiring it. And the enderdragon cutscene was an example; I never said it HAD to be used.
And maybe just for achievements would be a good idea.
This sounds really cool. Would kind of make the game more interesting and adventure/survival like instead of the plain sandbox it is right now. Plus, the cutscenes could be easily skipped, which means people wouldn't (or at least shouldn't) complain about them.
Everyone saying "THIS DOESNT FIT MINECRAFT IT HAS NO STORY"
Well: This is simply a suggestion that basically has absolutely nothing to do with a story line except for the enderdragon, and would perhaps spark interest and enjoyment into new players, that feel like mining an ore for the first time is actually something to be celebrated, as with the other points in which a cutscene was suggested. +1

Minecraft has no storyline.
Therefore...come on, this forum is semi-literate, you can figure this out.
