I have been thinking about what world types Jeb and the team should add, and here are my suggestions:
Alpha: For the nostalgia, and it would be cool if they included the old default texture pack as well.
Beta: World generation before the 1.8 Adventure Update, with no ravines, abandoned mines, and strongholds.Hopefully the old seeds we deleted would still work if this was implemented.
Skylands: Notch replaced this with the end, but since there is a world type button now, WHY NOT!
Beginner: A special world that contains scripted events that allow them to learn a little about minecraft. It would then become a Default world for them to play in and discover the rest of the game.
Your Suggestions
FuryRising: Insane- all algorithms to create a realistic world are lost. Blocks and structures can appear in whatever order. Biomes are randomized greatly.
Metropolis- greatly increases the amount of strongholds and villages you find.
Scarred-Ravines and lava lakes are everywhere. Mountains rarely form.
Unstable- lava replaces water, gravel replaces stone, TNT appears as often as coal.
Perpetual Night: It is always night, and beds are not craftable.
FadeStone: Oblivion - Skyblock. But only the one Bedrock piece, none of the grass and the trees.
SkylordToon: Caves - Regular world with a twist. Dig deep enough and you will find a nether like area but instead of lava or netherrack you should have stone, regular ores, and water.
In additional to overall world types, I'd like sliders for certain aspects of a world. For example: height, biomes, water, lava, ores, etc, etc.

What's the point of beginner mode when you have achievements?
They don't tell you how to craft items.
Beginner is for the people absolutely new to minecraft, as they might click to try and destroy a block, not hold, and they might not know that they can block with a sword by right clicking, not know about the end, and so on.
This is to remove the necessity to go on youtube and watch tutorials, go on the minecraft wiki, and so on.

Good ideas by the way. Thinking of new worlds is always fun.
