I had an idea for the stupid and meaningless Rotten Flesh zombies drop.
So when you pick up Rotten Flesh you could do this-
You could place Rotten Flesh in a crafting table or in the inventory craft with a water bucket below it and it would come out with, "cleaner flesh", or, "cleaned flesh", or something of the sort. Example- (Lets call blue wool the water bucket and the zombie the Rotten Flesh)
It could go like that.
Then you would cook it and eat it, replacing 3 foods on the food bar, OR you could craft a delicious dish made with wheat, then the "cleaner flesh", or, "cleaned flesh" below with a bowl at the bottom. Example- (Let wooden planks be the bowl)
This would now replace up to 8 or maybe even 10 of the foods on you your food bar.
This is just something for a board modder to take into consideration because I am nowhere near to being a modder.
Thank you!
Could I make this into a mod? I just got an idea that you could clean the rotten flesh in boiling water, a new item that could be made by putting a bucket of water in a furnace.
This should be an easy mod to make with modloader.
Rottenflesh can already be used for dogs... and to be honest... is pretty usefull in crappy situations.
I think we have enough food for now :tongue.gif:
I have to say no. Zombie flesh is incredibly easy to obtain, and to simply be able to purify it, AND have it heal more than watermelons and bread is much to over powered.

Yes, boiling water would actually be a good idea.
Also maybe this would be good too-
The same recipe I had in mind but replace wheat with seeds and it would replace 7 foods on the food bar. Then the recipe with wheat would replace all 10.

That's the point of this, in my opinion "good idea for a mod".
Rotten Flesh has very little uses and it makes it a better item.
So less is more in this case.
Look at mushroom stew. Cheap, replaces more hearts.
That's what I had in mind.
It's just to give Rotten Flesh more uses.
Seems that cooking it would be better suited for purifying it. Mods are fair game, but rotten flesh is meant to occupy its own little niche - last resort food for you, or cheap food for your wolves.
The Animal Wheels mod allows you to cook rotten flesh into leather this would be quite helpful in a way and it sort of makes sense though it seems overpowered, then again I never get enough leather.

If you think about it, that's cannibalism. You are eating purified zombie meat. Last time I checked, zombies were humans at one point. Purifying the meat would leave you with human meat. Would you really want to eat flesh from an unknown part of somebodies body?

Anyway, my idea has always been that if you feed it to a mob it follows you around for a minute (like a zombie) and attacks what you do.
