I'm sitting here looking at our server's map, when I got the idea to create boarders and divide the regions into different countries. However, even though I think I've managed to create quite decent sizes of the countries (some big and some small), I'm not too happy with their content. Why?
(I hope it auto-scales)
1. Every country has at least 3 deserts. I rather want all deserts clumped into one Arabic-esque land.
2. The biomes are so small, they reappear all the time with very short intervals.
So in order to create a realistic world map there need to be some climate zones that put snow biomes on the northern parts, jungles and deserts near some imaginary equator and so on.
I realise this feature is mostly usefull to servers with people building towns all around the world. For those not at all interested in this global distribution, but only interested in having biomes at a decent range from your play area (like now), there could be a button when creating the world to select for "climate zones".
---
Even better would be the possibility to draw a map, and then the biomes will spawn accordingly to the colours you use.
