Currently, our hunger and heart system goes as follows:
if hunger is equal to or less than 7, heart regeneration doesn't happen
if hunger is equal to or greater than 8, heart regeneration happens.
This is rather inflexible and boring.
I propose for food:
Meats, fish, stew, and bread restore hunger
MelonSlices, Apples, and Sugar restore hearts, albeit a small amount of hearts.
I propose for the Hunger System:
Hearts restored per 10 seconds is equal to Hunger
This basically means full hunger has a heart healed every second, but half hunger heals half a heart a second, and quarter hunger heals half a heart every 2 seconds, and so on, and everything in between. This way, your hearts always regenerate, they just regenerate slower with less hunger.
If you eat a steak or whatever when you only have 1 point of hunger needed, you will get overindulged. This adds a max heart for each hunger point you have over the max Hunger bar. When the hunger points you got from overindulging are used up, your extra max hearts will disappear as well. You cannot eat more food while you are overindulged. This would have a particularly good effect when used with a golden apple :wink.gif:
Anyways, that was my suggestion for you, Mojang. Have a good one.
All who support, please keep the post alive. :smile.gif:
Jokes aside, I really like this idea. The hunger system is so bland, and in my opinion needs some work, and I think that the regeneration suggestion is awesome.
I love the over-indulgence effect, it would be so helpful.
Hell, why not. This seems like a more legit approach to hunger anyway.
Thing is, it probably will never change unless someone comes to them directly about this.
Your signature made me think there was a bug on my screen! :laugh.gif:
Me too -.- I looked at it and I was like, "Hey that's a pretty cool signature. Wait... maybe there is a bug on my screen? *Presses thumb to screen* Dang it!"
