i think there should be cheese. to make it you must make an automatic butter churner. put redstone and planks in the crafting table(you decide how), and you get an automatic butter churner. put milk in the churner and just like smelting something it will take a couple seconds then it will make butter. put the butter and milk into the crafting table and it will make 2 cheese. you can eat the cheese plain healing one hunger bar or put it with 1 piece of bread or steak in the crafting table making it cheesed bread or cheese steak, healing one more hunger bar than the food it is put on. if possible you can put the cheese between 2 pieces of bread making and uncooked grilled cheese(not edible) the put it in the oven making it grilled cheese which heals 4 hunger bars. :cool.gif:

well it's just an idea i'm throwing out into the battlefield. they don't need to add it but i will like if they did for their next update. :cool.gif:

I think keyboards should come with an enter key that allows you to create a new line after each thought.
Let me try and clean this up.
The first thing to clean up:
butter is churned milk fat; emulsified and hardened.
cheese is cultured milk; intentionally spoiled and curded. These curds are then strained, pressed, and aged.
Butter is not a processing step in the production of cheese.
I'll ignore that for the sake of your suggestion.
The second thing to clean up:
creating cheese is ridiculously expensive for the payoff. To make the butter, you'd have to sacrifice the milk, bucket and all.
To make the cheese, you'd have to sacrifice another bucket. This is 6 iron to get 2 cheese. Not worth it.
This second thing is critical and cannot be ignored due to gameplay balance.
Cheese is created by pouring milk into an automatic butter churner; a player can craft it with wood planks and redstone (recipe not provided, use your imagination). It is time-delayed, just like smelting an item but yields 1 butter as an end result.
When butter is crafted with a bucket of milk, it forms 2 cheese which can be eaten to recover 1 hunger. It can also be crafted with 1 bread or 1 steak to recover bread+1 or steak+1 respectively. A player can also craft a grilled cheese sandwich with 2 bread and 1 cheese which is inedible until cooked. When cooked, it recovers 4 hunger.
I think keyboards should come with an enter key that allows you to create a new line after each thought.

well when you make furnace you don't go step by step crafting the shape and the holes or when making a minecart you don't make the wheels so who cares if you have to age the cheese, you don't need that. the churner will give you back your bucket. and how come i cant't mix cheese and butter, what's wrong with that?
I have nothing against the milk-based product. I have something against the way you're implementing it.
Yoshi said enough, though I will say more.
Unless cheese has any unique properties other than do the same thing food does right now, its just a reskin with small tweaks in stats.
Though not meaning to be negative on you, I'll suggest you do the right thing. Listen to reason. Implement Yoshi's critiques to your idea. It can still be saved with a complete rework. Balance it.

Uhh... What? Either you misunderstood what I meant, or you're strawmanning.
Here's the thing. Creating butter is not a processing step in creating cheese. Also, creating butter is not a processing step in creating cheese. Finally, and most importantly, creating butter is not a processing step in creating cheese.
I also made no mention on minecart wheels, and I also didn't ask you to describe the process of crafting a furnace as they are unrelated. I DID however ask that you create a crafting recipe for your butter churner.

Again, no one said you couldn't. Also, where the hell did you get combining cheese and butter (which is gross, btw. concentrated and emulsified milk fat + cultured and aged milk fat... BARF). If you meant butter+milk, then you obtain the qualities of BUTTERMILK.
The easy way of arguing against me... by the way... since you're looking for a handout.

That would have satisfied the argument RIGHT THERE. It's much less hairy than the suggestion that you need to use a system where you dramatically retrofit the crafting/smelting engine.
Also...
If you craft butter and a bucket of milk, you STILL LOSE THE BUCKET.
Even with the reduced requirements of 1 bucket versus 2; 3 iron for 2 cheese with a total net benefit of 8 hunger is NOT worth it. Iron is plentiful, but that's extreme and outrageous.

Ever heard of variety adds character?
yeah i have but you dont need to add 4 more food items and 3 other items just so you can have cheese on toast
also it shouldnt be called uncooked grilled cheese cuz thats just weired, its like having raw cooked porkchop

Does Cheese = Iron? Does Hunger = Lot of effort?
Balance it out.
