Yes, here I am with yet again another post regarding trees and plants. This one will have quite a deal of suggestions. Here it goes:
TREES:
-Palm tree: It will have a trunk resembling fence, but possibly darker and slightly larger. Maximum height will achieve 15 blocks. There will be a different block for the heart of the palm tree, which will drop heart of palm (food item) when destroyed. Foliage will also be different.
-Banana tree: this tree will have a fence- thin, green, yellow or brown trunk. its max. height will be 5 blocks and leaves will drop 1-3 bananas upon harvesting in (said) manner.
-Baobab: They will have a sleeker, smoother looking and very large trunk, and unknown foliage arrangement/block. Max. height 10 blocks. They will grow in deserts and possibly but rarely, plains.
-Coast Redwood: I have an entire post on these trees alone, if you want you can see it here: http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/940569-redwoods-in-minecraft/ They would grow exclusively in SOME coniferous forests as these are huge trees (similar to slimes only spawning in certain chunks) and would grow in small pockets of about 3-4. Ultimately, they would be surrounded by sword ferns (mentioned in detail below).
SMALLER PLANTS:
-Sword fern: A small, 1 block tall and large fern that has long, drooping branches and will be entirely light green, contrary to the current fern which is a duller, darker green and resembles a miniature pine tree. These would grow plentifully and very close together in pockets, both in oak/birch forests and sometimes coniferous forests (A.K.A where redwoods would grow)
-Very tall grass: like tall grass, but it would grow up to 2 blocks high and would stay 1 block large. they would grow in some oak forests, and plentifully around baobabs/the general area they grow in (excluding deserts). If the top half is cut, the bottom half stays there, and if the bottom half is cut both halves fall. Drops nothing.
OTHER:¸
-Flower fields: These would be colorful patches of red, yellow and (not currently in-game unless with texture pack) blue flowers. They would be relatively small, as to not make them obnoxious. They would grow exclusively in large open fields, far from mountains, deserts and forests.
That's all. Hope you guys like my list. Post your thoughts, comments and suggestions in the comments. Have a nice day!
no minecraft is to advanced as it is, that would be out of the theme, looking at alpha versions and such, this barely scrapes by as being vanilla to the original theme, i think that what we have right now is enough, we dont need more features! except for in the nether and the end, they need to have some work done...

I do agree, but considering how advanced Minecraft has become, it wouldn't really be a disturbance. Maybe the classic version could be jumped to alpha or something, i don't know. (I bought minecraft in Beta 1.3, so I never lived through alpha)

Dude. Its a blocky, sandbox game. No pretty trees, three types is enough.
However, I do like the 2 block tall grass idea and the flower feilds.

P.S. I meant to quote your first post. Doh!
Well, if you think creatively, you can look at a "blocky sandbox game" differently. It's not everyday we see enchanted tools and 3D space portals that lead to an ender dimension in a world of blocks. Point, though.
