This thread will go into the map generator ideas i thought up while going through my daily life
Gen 1: Semi-flat
This was inspired by my attempt at surviving on a super flat map (i found this quite fun actually). It is a map that is completely flat with the exception of lakes, trees, and biomes being included. due to my entertianing expirance with superflat survival, i think this would make for alot of fun.
Gen 2: Water world
This would be a map that is almost completely flooded but with plenty of islands, this will make boats and underwater suvival tecniques much more important and allows for a different kind of playstyle, reprioritizing things like grass and trees. (I relize there are several servival island maps out there but this one would be alot of small islands with small, random resources not one somewhat big one with preset resources and conditions.)
Gen 3: Cytaclism
This would be a torn up, wasteland type with lots of sand and sandstone seperating small oasis villages and massive trenches of lava and vast seas of water. Possibly could add a few nether portals and nether like fortresses (with similar enemies).
Gen 4: Mystic lands
I remember seeing a particularly awesome map generator you guys tested out briefly on a youtube video when the game was still back in alpha, it had some extremely cool mountians that looped around in all different shapes and a few floating islands. It was a bit majestic in that the laws of gravity didnt really stop nonsensical formations from happening (such as mountains being flipped over.)
Gen 5: Flying contentants
this would be sort of like sky block survival only on a much bigger scale, the lands would be seperated by seas of air instead of water (water would be found in small lakes/ponds) and there would be some floating on top and then several more floating and inter-connecting down below made of rock. this would be one of the more interesting map generators as the world would be more mythical and neat looking as you see far off lands floating in the distance sepertated by misty seas of air and interconnecting rocky lands below full of precious menerals and danger.
I'm sure there will be plenty around in a couple of weeks but I can't find any now! I love the Semi-Flat idea, I was playing survival on superflat, and it is really hard, and there are HEAPS of slimes :tongue.gif: it took me 2 days to find a village, and the means to survive. I had to grief real bad and I really hate doing that :biggrin.gif:
