I was at an event (Further Confusion 2012) and someone was walking around with a Minecraft Steve head. He was taking pictures, and I got into a conversation with him about how awesome it would be if you could craft a camera in Minecraft, and then post the pictures you take with that camera on the walls in the game.
Implementation: Once the camera is crafted (Iron, glass and redstone), using it takes up a redstone dust and creates a picture. The picture can then be hung on the wall.
Personally, I'd love this feature. So often I'd build something awesome in Minecraft, but I wouldn't have a way to 'memorialize' it. With an in-game camera I could take a picture or two, and stick a picture to it in my home base.
This is the best suggestion I've heard in a while, I really hope this gets recognized.
Imagine how could it would be to have pictures of your trips in your Minecraft house for memories or even maps!
Sure. But this shouldn't get rid of the F2 screenshots.
I like this idea so much that I've decided to make a recipe: This would go for 5 pictures, then you would have to reload it like this: The glass pane being the camera.
This is a great suggestion.....It would be great, Allowing us to decorate our house/buildings/etc even more
"Here's that floating island/mountain/village/scenery /etc..."
Why not just have a constant supply of redstone and it uses it automatically like the bow uses the arrows?
Agreed. I think that requiring a special material to 'reload' the camera would be unnecessary complexity. Using a redstone dust to take a picture makes more sense.
If there is a desire for more complexity, how about this. You can view a picture taken with redstone dust and a camera through your inventory, but to hang it on the wall you have to combine it with a picture.
