Mods like Optifine, Fly Mod, X-Ray, And others, it would make it easier so we dont have chance of computers crashing. Just saying. It would make minecraft a lot better.
If the mods were built into the vanilla game, they would cease to be mods at all.
Also, Jeb is working on a Mod API. This doesn't mean that the mods would be built in, but I believe that this means that you could load up mods and get them through the actual game, and hopefully they let you disable them too XD

This is so bad i'm not even going to flame it. i posted this comment out of pure anger.
Flight is already enabled in creative mode, and that's where it should stay.
X-ray can easily be considered a cheat (and is against the rules on many servers), and should not be included in vanilla Minecraft. Want diamonds? Then work for them.
Any mods that could easily give players an unfair advantage in survival environments (especially SMP), should not be included in the vanilla game, or at least be reserved for creative mode only.

built in mods? they're not mods then if they're built in! as for your ideas, maybe optfine but i've never actually used it so i don't know of any potential problems. but x-ray and fly mods? don't you have somewhere else to be an idiot?
First of all, if they were built-in, they would cease to be mods, and become features. Secondly, while we can debate on the morality of releasing a "full" version of a game that is still lacking core features, it does not change the fact that the modding API is in development.
@WomalMonster; I agree with you in general, but they would be a useful feature in Creative Mode.
@Divine Insect; The nail...you have hit it on the head most squarely.

They're mods for a reason.

if spc was put in, i think the concept of minecraft would be lost. minecraft is about survival. spc is called cheating. :dry.gif:
