Introduction:
Capture the Flag a game mode i think a lot of people want maybe not the idea originally was found on the Minecraft wiki they made a CTF stub here is the link to that page
Now CTF will be implanted into a multiplayer option in the server propities it will say Capture the Flag mode- True / False
When on True it will generate a new world with a map there will be different options for this mode witch i will explain later in this thread
False, means CTF will be disactivated and will not enable the mode.
There could be actually a Single Player mode for CTF But it may be way to hard to code the AI for the challenger.
Game Types:
First of all you have to create the server yourself and ask people to join this could be improved if they made a in game lobby witch i doubt
Normal Game Mode
Online Match:
There is different type of amount of player there is:
3 VS 3 (Small Map)
6 VS 6 (Medium Map)
12 VS 12 (Medium Map)
16 VS 16 (Large Map)
These online matches maps will be generated depending on the amount of players there is the more the bigger the map the objective in general is to get the flag from the enemy's base (Witch is randomly generated) the team with the most flags and most kills will win witch is a simple game mode witch may be a popular one.
Building Onward Mode:
This is one of the more harder game mode since of how you have to create the castle with your friends you have a time minute of 15 minutes to complete the castle you start the game with a couple of chest with Cobble stone in them etc, to win the match is to get the most captures.
This mode will only be a 16 VS 16 map and lasts 30 - 40 Minutes
I see no point in adding a world option when players simply have to build their own stadium, flags, and put a kitchen timer next to the computer. Why waste an entire map on a arena when all a player has to do is build their own? I'd rather build my own, personally. It's a hell of a lot more fun and it actually gets people involved on the server.
I once built a Spleef arena, where the user fell into lava if they lost. Furthermore, if the player was an OP and invincible, they could climb out of the lava into a comfy shower room. There was a gold-block viewing platform for the server owner, and the corners were glowstone to light up the night. I had a hell of a lot of fun making it. I hardly played with it, though, now that I think about it. But the whole point is, a lot of the fun of the game is building the stuff, and less using it. Take away the portion of building the CTF arena, it instantly becomes less fun. See how it works?
Why? If you want a seriously intense CTF game, assign opposing factions, give them each a different record, and have them work together to play vanilla while trying to steal the record from the other teams. Eventually your team's base will expand to a fortress, and if you attract more people to your server the battle will get even more intense.
By having pre-made maps in a game with combat as simplistic as minecraft, you'r taking away the main selling point of the game: total creative control.

Sick of Runescape mods for Minecraft that are horrible, awful, broken, and in some cases not even made? Yeah, so was I, until I got roped into the RSMC team. It's basically perfect.

[quote=Badgerz]You have to keep in mind that people are stupid.
[quote=Catelite]Just because you don't understand how something works, doesn't make it broken or pointless. >_<
