I saw some threads with ideas on animals, and I have some of my own ideas, so I'm compressing it into one post.
1. Animals need to breed on their own at a slow rate. They should not depend on humans to survive. The rate should be enough so that they don't need to spawn at all.
2. Less animals should spawn in new chunks. A lot spawn currently to compensate for them spawning so rarely otherwise. I start a new world and see tons of animals. People kill them and get tons of food and never have to farm or anything, then almost none spawn afterwards.
3. Animals should have a lifespan of around 10 Minecraft years. They should also have to regularly eat grass (not tall, regular) to survive. That way, if too many animals are in a small space, they will die off until the land can support them. Also, animals would die if they go into caves for too long, which is good since it's annoying when there are random animals stuck in caves under your house.
4. Maybe monsters besides creepers should attack animals? Wolves do, so it seems logical that monsters who attack random humans would also attack random food sources (animals). This is just a kinda wild idea that we don't really need, but maybe if people want it, they should add it.
5. Wolves should eat meat that they find on the ground to regain health. They should also kill animals for food when they are low on health. Wolves (tamed and wild) should not suffocate in walls. They always die that way. They should also avoid fire and lava.
6. Wolves should very slowly breed by themselves, but not when a player feeds them with wheat (wolves are carnivores).
7. Pigs should drop much more meat. As some other threads said, they are pointless now because cows drop meat and leather and can be milked. It would be nice if they were also controllable with saddles.
Thanks for the support! If they would add this, it would be great for my server. All of the animals are dead, and I have to manually breed them, but others keep killing the ones I release.
This makes tons of sense, it was always annoying having a bunch of animals in a 3x3 box. XD
Oh yeah, I hate it when that happens. They glitch into blocks and start appearing on the ground above, sometimes escaping. If they had hunger, they'd die.

Curse PremiumI also agree with this! Whenever I play multiplayer on a PvP server, no matter how hard I try, there is not a single animal to kill.
+1
