imagine you went to mining and you forgot to take torchs or wood but you can't turn back just for wood, you have got some coals and a flint and steel. You can burn the floor and when you put coal or charcoal(right clicking on it).It burns really longer. You can also make campfires in your house.
What idiot forgets to bring torches whilst mining?
Edit: You're also suggesting that we have another block that does the exact same thing as netherrack. If we were to add this suggestion to the game it would unbalance the purpose of netherrack.
What are saying? put a wooden plank in my wood house? AND LIGHT IT!?
HECK NO!
you can make a brick fireplace that has no contact with wood.and there are people who build their houses out of stone, brick and also obsidian they don't burn
Theres already netherrack that u can use as unilmited fireplace.
That reminds me of one of my terrible Mining Trips:
I got lost in a huge cave system. I ran out of torches and sticks. Eventually, I find Obsidian. I mine it all with my diamond pick, then make a Nether Portal shape. I place my furnace, smelt my iron, and craft a Flint & Steel. I light the Nether Portal and go in.
I go inside the Nether, dodge Ghasts, and mine netherrack. Once I had a few stacks of it, I return to the overworld, and pack up my portal.
Instead of torches, I placed Netherrack blocks and lit them.
That was a very random day.

I am meowing at my lung’s fullest. I would even argue that the echo that reverberates back to me is the voice of someone I know…

Of a long dead dream, little demon awake
The citizens sleep, never quite knowing when
The device will reawaken, hungry again.
HECK NO!
Not bad, but it might be a bit risky :wink.gif:
