We all hear and see the theories involving lighting levels and monster spawning but a lot of times too much light or too little light is used and mobs spawn anyway.
What about a physical in game function that shows safe lighting levels by outlining the safe zone of lighted areas with a clearly visible line when holding a torch.
-Activated: By holding a torch.
-Function: displays a grid-like outline between blocks of safe and unsafe levels of lighting for all currently placed light sources.
This would eliminate potentially flawed judgement and accidental failure to properly light areas.
And if not officially then a mod for this sort of feature would be awesome!
Something like this v but with a solid line instead:
I guess it'd be some sort of telescope. When viewed through it, it should highlight mobs, and put a line around the 'safe light' area.
That sounds like an idea! :biggrin.gif: I actually like this idea of some sort of craftable device to do this job with and it makes more sense than just having torches do it.

That's what I was thinking, some kind of tool that may take a little in depth playing before obtaining. :biggrin.gif:
