This is a simple idea. Simply, sifting for gold and other minerals. In other words, soil, sand, and clay in shallow water would be able to be sifted with a new tool. The tool, a sifter, would be simply crafted from wool and iron, like so:
It looks like a silver bowl with a cloth bottom and has a high durability. Simply you would click on one of the blocks in some shallow water while holding a sifter and then possibly get some items:
What, and male golden apples even MORE common? Just joking, it's a good idea. However, it should have high durability, to even it out. Oh, and remove blaze powder, and make something specific to it availible, but uncommon, such as 1 in 100. Maybe sea glass? Similar to glass, but can be dyed and has higher blast resistance.

Sounds pretty good! I think the chance of getting some things should be increased especially since the 'common' things would actually be hard to get. I think it would be better if they dropped 4 of each item (im assuming they only drop 1 at the moment)
It looks like a silver bowl with a cloth bottom and has a high durability. Simply you would click on one of the blocks in some shallow water while holding a sifter and then possibly get some items:
1-4 flint: 1/25 chance
2-3 seeds: 1/25 chance
3-5 clay: 1/25 chance
2-3 bone meal: 1/40 chance
3-4 gunpowder: 1/50 chance
1-2 gold nuggets: 1/100 chance
2-3 redstone: 1/250 chance
3-5 sea stone (new material): 1/100 chance.
possible rarities may include diamond and glowstone dust each with a 1/3500 chance.
Sea stone would be a gemstone that can be dyed and crafted in a 3x3 pattern to make colored glass. It also has a higher blast resistance.
Tell me what you think of the idea.
Thanks, I personally think this is a good idea, and I tend to search for flaws. I can haz +1?
