1. Skeletons should fire arrows faster, like as fast as in 1.7.3. We should have to be using bunkers and stuff like that to avoid them. Since 1.8, you can just sprint them and hit them as hard as you possibly can while they're close enough. Thats very cheap, and skeletons being able to shoot quicker should be added. It would also bring more purpose to dodging arrows by sprinting, and would feel like the strategic way to kill them rather than the cheap way.
2. Zombies should give you food poisoning for a short time after attacking. It brings more challenge to them, but also sort of makes sense -- the hunger potion effect is similiar to being a zombie because you're hungry for more food, and its like the zombie is infecting you.
3. Spiders should poison you for 5 seconds after a bite. They're spiders, they should poison you.
4. 25% of the time, spider jockeys should spawn, and when thunder strikes, every creeper on the map that has currently spawned should become super charged.
5. Zombie pigmen should attack on sight, but only spawn on netherrack so they don't ruin your builds.
This would only be happening on hard mode if you guys really can't handle harder monsters. Also, I have some reasons why these things are not overpowered and are actually fine ideas.
a) Use bunkers, forts, etc to avoid skeleton fire, like the good ol' days. It'll be like there's actually a point to making defensive structures again! :ohmy.gif:
b ) More reason for moats, traps for MOBs, etc.
c) Zombies won't so weak anymore.
d) We'll take night time much more seriously.
e) A POINT TO POTIONS AND ENCHANTMENTS.
f) You can just light the ground on fire and lead the creatures into it or use lava buckets.
g) All creatures in-game need to be more stronger because repeated sprinting and attacking easily does them in.
I also have a few ideas to nerf this and make it better.
I. Rotten flesh should be smeltable into leather. Leather is a very weak armour, but it would be a godsend for people on their first nights who have barely found any iron.
II. More EXP, because the MOBs are tougher.
III. Potions should have a stronger effect, and splash potions need a longer range -- the current range is pitiful and at it, you often get potion all over yourself too. The damage potion is equivalent to whacking someone with a normal diamond sword, its just pointless.
3. Spiders should poison you for 5 seconds after a bite. They're spiders, they should poison you.

Actually, most spiders are completely harmless. And let's say I cur out some flesh from my arm, and stuck it into a furnace. What do I get? A: a bloody arm. B: ashes.
I think to make it harder they should be able to see you from farther away, and I agree that skeletons should shoot faster too. I think that mobs should invade your home, like creepers blow up you walls, and zombies go in to make a wall for skeletons to shoot you. So, yeah I think mobs should be better.

Zombie flesh is, from the looks of its skin, tough and leathery and strong. Perhaps it even has regeneration capabilities to the zombie, because it is perfectly unscarred. So, I think it sort of makes sense. :smile.gif: And about smelting your arm: Rotten is the key word here.
It would be WAY too hard if they could invade your home, so perhaps I think zombies should be able to break blocks (with the speed of Steve's fist, + you would see particles and cracking and the zombie would be punching).
Cooking rotten flesh to make leather... interesting.
On the note of it being hard mode, I still think it would be too much of a pain at the beginning. Mobs already do tons of damage to you when you're naked, they would just plain murderate you like this.
I say we nerf armor first then add all these ideas to a new game mode. I don't want this on regular hard because spiders poisoning makes cave spiders pointless, the knockback from skelly arrows gets hella annoying as is when you are swimming towards them, and zombies food poisoning me? That would just get annoying.

Armor won't require nerfing -- you'll be very happy with the armour strength when fighting monsters.
Personally, I think cave spiders really are pointless. Why are they in the game? Its quite lazy of Notch to just add those. What he could do is make cave spiders apply the slowness effect to you as well.
Why are you swimming towards a skeleton in the first place? :biggrin.gif: Use arrows. Stop being a silly caveman and getting used to that sprint feature. Thats the one thing I hate about sprint, its made the game extremely easy.
And no, it would not make first nights hard. First nights are easy if you can throw aesthetics out the window, just get wood and dig into the ground and cover where you came in. Even without doing that, some people can survive. Either way, surviving a night in minecraft is, since 1.8, very easy (if you don't run around naked with a stone sword killing all the monsters) :tongue.gif: .
Though I do agree that the enemies are a bit too weak, and could use a bit of a buff, I think there are some more creative ways of doing this. For example, how about instead of the zombie poisoning you, he gains the ability to "grab" players. This would make it so, when in range of a zombies attack, your speed and jump ability are hindered, this is an interesting twist to the zombie that not only makes sense, but makes him a very menacing enemy, especially if you have a creeper after you as well. The idea for the skeleton is good, but even before the change in fire rate the timing on their arrows were very predictable. Instead I suggest that the skeleton's fire rate is varied depending on the distance from the target, the closer you, the faster the skeleton's fire rate gets. As for creepers, I thing they are ok as they are. The idea that they ALL turn into supercharged creepers is a bit much. perhaps depending on the difficulty setting they can destroy more blocks? With the new snapshots out, the zombie pigman are already hostile 24/7, but i like the idea to limit their spawn. Also, spiderjokeys are really more of a side enemy over everything else, each spider that spawns has a 1% chance of having a skeleton riding on it's thorax, but spiderzockeys aren't too dangerous, especially considering the fact that they often deal damage to themselves via the skeleton shooting it's mount. If you think of any cool abilities for the mobs to have let me know. :biggrin.gif:
having a realistic stamina system would make the mobs much tougher, without changing them.
We are the ones OP, not the mobs being underpowered.
We sort of do; its hunger. I think that players became overpowered after the armour update and after sprinting was added, but the MOBs should be stronger instead of us being weaker. If we were weaker, the game wouldn't be as fun.

The minecraft spider isn't.
