Why can't we have liquid ores like petroleum or mercury, or a gaseous ore or two?
Petroleum:
uncommon, usually found under ocean beds
smelted to form oil
flammable
floats on water
Mercury:
rare,found in Mantle Dimension???
cooled for armor
kept liquid for thermometer
Natural Gas:
uncommon, found around petroleum deposits
flammable
bluish gas
used for potions, and a heater* (glacial biome)
floats until it hits a solid
Radon:
rare, found in deep caverns
radioactive*
very light greenish-yellow
used in poison potions
sinks until contact with other substance
collects around Uranium and Petroleum deposits
Oxygen:
common, found in most caverns
flammable
white/clear gas
used for a breathing unit (bubble)
contacts iron to form Rust
Rust tools and blocks break easy but have unique capabilities
floats until contact with a solid
Neon:
rare, found in underground lakes
floats until contact with solid
emits a fairly bright light
orange gas
can be dyed with dye bits* (obtained from microscope)
And what the heck, lets spice up the solids too.
Titanium:
rare, found in the Mantle???
makes engine, microscope, planetary teleporter, titanium tools, tank (water), and larger vehicles
only mined with an iron or higher pick
Sulfur:
uncommon, found around lava and the Mantle???
used in potions and replaces sand in TNT
Silicon:
common, found everywhere
used in sonar, motion sensors, and chips
Silver:
rare, found around gold
used in silver tools, nails, pump, and Nanites*
Copper:
common, found everywhere
used in generators, and wire
wire carries a charge 10 blocks farther than red stone
blocks can be placed directly on top of
adjacent circuits wont connect with out nails
Phosphorus:
rare, found in deep tunnels
blocks that emit an orangish low-level light
when mined with a gold/silver pick, gives 3-6 dust
Uranium:
rare, found deep in tunnels
radioactive*
used in Processor, and Uranium block
Lead:*
common, found right along surface
used in weights*,winch, cable, and cannons
mined with diamond/titanium pick
Platinum:
rare, found deep in rifts
used in platinum blocks, armor
heat, blast, radioactive, and weather resistant
Fossils:*
uncommon, found around coal and petroleum
used to make bones
can be enchanted to resurrect creatures
Magnesium:
uncommon, found around lava or water underground below 40
drops 3-7 Mg nuggets
used for water-proof torches
Rendareum:
rare, found with diamond/gold deposits
used with overworld materials (sulfur, iron, and redstone) to make the following
Emeralds/Sapphires/Rubies:
rare, found in sky, water, and nether dimensions
used in new dimensions*
But there should also be a wide variety of ores for resources mined. In real life there are many types of ores for iron, and this should be so with other ores!
Fixed that for you.
I actually would support the addition of numerous ores and animals that don't add much other than some variety in what your resources look like. But this is just a load of oddball ideas, some of which would involve huge programming complications and may or may not add anything to the game unless a whole pile of other stuff is added. And with it all in, the minecraft I know and love would just feel bloated and make less sense than it does already.
If you want to add a feature to something, you're already off-track. Wanting to change something is not where you start. You start by seeing a problem or an aspect of gameplay that really wants development. After you've noticed something that could be made better by adding something to the game, then it's time to start thinking about what to add. A good addition is one that addresses an issue or adds interesting mechanics to the game; fits the theme of the game, its setting, and its established conventions; has some semblance of plausibility (not necessarily realism, but the two usually overlap); and is going to be worth the work adding it will take.
This big list of suggestions reminds me of the dwarves in this webcomic.

Yes true,my ideas need others to work but...
all of these ores could be used for practical things
like copper; it would solve alot of redstone issues and still be harder to get.
and also why couldn't we have a minecart train that will push/pull itself, or a boat we can walk in?
Submarines would make exploring a new water world much more realistic( both in reality and capability) and to accomplish these ideas you already need:
Titanium (for vehicles)
Oxygen (for sub)
Petroleum (for engines that run vehicles)
Silver (for the nails to hold mine carts together)
so give another reason why more resources shouldn't be added, "It would make the game to modern, Minecraft is just bare-bones"?
It's not, its about starting with nothing and slowly evolving and adapting to the world around you, so if you played long enough, why couldn't you make a more modernized world, I mean we did it.

But thank you for the criticism :wink.gif:
