You hover over the world, and you influence a small bunch of mobs. About six. Now, you instruct these mobs to construct things, to mine, to craft, to battle, through a command system. You can name the mobs for ease of access, (Jim! Build a house! Bob, craft some arrows! Carrie, feed the pigs!) and only certain commands would work, otherwise they look at you with a little question mark above their heads. There would be, of course, things you build, and if it sticks, you can say "It's a (Blank)." And they'll understand. If they have the resource, you can say, "People, build a (Blank) And they'll make that structure. Certain names could have certain effects. A house to heal with, a forge to smelt with. However, it would be shaped a certain way, (No door? How do they get in if it's just a block?) It would be sort of a strategy version of survival. Oh, and "Statue" and "Shrine" Would be worship devices. Mobs worship different ways, depending on what you give them. Sermons in churchs and temples, sacrifices at altars, strange tribal dances at tiki idols. Worshipping would give you "Blessing points" Which you then click a mob and select "Bless" for a bit of a power-up. Effective. Time would advance in days, so every method has it'd ups and downs. Oh, and in classic "Hovery god thing" style, you can pick them up. Or just let them die, or find different ways to kill them.... Monster.
Yes. My ideas are rather jumbled, but if you can read, and please organize it, I thank you greatly with giant tikis.

I'd make them build a giant statue of my skin. Then blow it up, and use the debris to make it again. Then build another to have the two battle eachother, and since both of them would have equal amounts of awesome in them, they'd blow up, and I'd tell the mobs to use the debris from both of them and make an even bigger statue.
How would building work, and wouldn't it be better to use a point and click system. Like place "blueprint" blocks of what you want them to build each block with.
quite a nice idea. it seems somewhat influenced by my idea.... maybe.... irdc... just remember creds are nice!
Not everything with the name "God" in it has anything to do with your idea. In fact, this idea appears to me to be a single-player (or multiplayer once Survival goes MP) idea, script-enforced rather than rule-enforced. Basically, it sounds more like "Black & White" (old PC game) than your idea.
I like this. I think it would be cool if you could save structures. Lets say you want to build a house. You do it with by selecting blocks like Zuriki said above. In the future, if you want to build the same or a similar(you would still be able to edit it) building, you can open a menu and place the exact same thing.
From reading the first few sentences, it sounds like Pokemon or some RPG game.
What? You can build things in Pokemon? :ohmy.gif:
Anyway, I like this idea very much.
you cant build in Pokemon you can only change the stuff in your secret underground base TIP: never block the entrance to get out of your base or your locked in
and yeah it is a great idea
This is a Minecraft forum, not Pokemon. We don't need tips on keeping our "secret base" intact.

I realy like the idea, but it would be a later mode. And yes starting in stoneage moving to antik then mediavel and in the end modern age (maybe future too?).
But as you should also be able to make buildings and then save them in some "building inventary" you should not get new buildings in new ages but new blocks like in stoneage only stone and wood blooks, and later you get bricks and colored stones and glass.
Or even better you have to make research:
Like to enable building glass you have to let lava flow into some sand basin, and then you (or rather bob or jim) can produce there glass. And to build a sponge one of your mobs has to dive very deep until he finds an undersea sponge field, where he can harvest spongi. And yeah like this.
Also you can make research in other things like culture or medicine, which will enable you to build totems and statues and madicine tents and hospital-furniture (you don´t build a hospital but a normal building and once you place a hospital furniture there it will become a hospital, and one of your mobs can become doc.) and school furniture (same as befor).
Okay that was it.
Hey. Also alot of your idea I intended. You build the say, house, block by block then you tell them what it is, and then you tell them to build that thing, and they'll build that. STOP; Example time!
You build a small hut of wood and stone. Pointing your mouse towards you new work, you tell your underlings: "It's a house." Understanding, they nod.
Later, your village has been ransacked by Creepers. Your little wood hut didn't survive. After commanding your troop to collect more wood, you point to a spot and say "Build a house." They at once go to your task, and voila! Good as new, down to the last detail.
:biggrin.gif: And that's how it works. If you have any more questions, just ask.

So, any other comments?
Like so:

This idea is like a minecraft RTS.
Those come when you command them to dig for lava. :biggrin.gif:
Left 4 Minecraft
Ehhhh, no. It's called Minecraft. With the extended RTS mode.
I personally like this idea in the basic form. But for it to be really enjoyable it would need to be vastly expanded.

But what if the griefers find it! Oh no!

Well, because then you would be using presets. I hate presets.
However, you could build something then save it as a preset object I guess.
Like build it in the Godcraft mode, then save it or build it in Creative mode, then export it to Godcraft?

Building in GodCraft mode, selecting the area then exporting as a building.
Note, it would only select player built blocks.
