Textures
I think that original texture in Minecraft is little bit boring, wouldn't it be better when would exist more textures for same blocks, i mean, 5 textures for stone, 5 textures for grass etc., that is kinda reason why people make texture packs, because original texture is getting little boring because there were not many texture changes (ignoring biome grass).
More stuff
It would be good when there would be more things, like lantern (block of glass on torch in ct), more mobs (frogs), more functions in game (lapis lazuli),...

That's what texture packs are for. And I think I remember Jeb saying he wasn't going to add lanterns or something like that... So yeah...

Yes, but I mean, when block of stone spawns/generates, it will have random texture from that 5 textures, not only one, even texture packs would be better with that.
There could be added something to control texture, so when you left click on block, it will open new window (like chest) with palette of textures for that block...

After a long long life, you find out that infinity is really not all that long.
Actually I like the idea of minor alteration in the texture of the block.
A mod already exists for mods where they have different skins so that zombies don't always look the same.
Though the whole deal with textures has to be remade from scratch and it would make texture packs a lot more work.
First, this doesn't have any connection to mobs.
Second, yes, it would take more work to make texture packs, so people won't make stupid texture packs (I am not assaulting anyone), and texture packs would be better and more appreciated.

I'm sorry, I have "smart" keyboard program, and it saved that word when I was typing, so now every time I write stuff it automatically turns it to "staff".

You could solve the issues by having the option to use simple settings or complicated settings. When using a simple texture pack (with only 1 texture for each block) it'll only show that one. If the pack has all the spots filled it will use the more complicated settings. Of course the player should also be able to change settings if there is any sort of slowdown.

Yes, just like that, it would be cool when minecraft developing team would make official program for textures that has ability to create as many textures for one block as you want. (Would be)

well the blocks would have to know what texture they have. I think redstone and the like use some kind of metadata thing that has 0-15 or something, this could probably be used to store which texture to draw (but would make blocks like redstone have only the default texture).
I guess that would leave up to 16 different block textures. I think that's way more than enough though.

Yes, it would be problem with redstone, I guess that I could hold only one texture, but, there could be added more id's for redstone, all for same purpose.

That's exactly what i wanted to suggest, i don't feel like doing another post but this seems abandoned. I think at least 3 or 4 textures for every block would be enough. By the way, Mojang already did something like this - Mossy and cracked stone bricks, they just use different ID's now i think.
