Great!!! Although I agree with others that it should be a little neater, maybe craft it with glass all around it to make glowstone lighting, maybe even do the same with redstone to make a repeater that could float in the air to make cables that could be used for many redefine needs! Maybe even this be an enchantment of glowstone dust, I'm adding it to my enchantment suggestions.

I am decent at Lua and Python, and am an expert with C, C+, HTML, Java, Javascript, and redstone. Gotta love redstone.
but i think it would be difficult to link redstone and glowstone together.
Not really, the better than wolves mod includes "light blocks" that are light sources controlled by redstone, and a signal powering one of them will power all light blocks connected to the original via other light blocks (I think there may be a limit), exactly how the gowstone dust would probably work if the two interacted.
I think people are getting confused about glowstone dust possible properties. To me i think glowstone dust should not be related to redstone (i.e not be able to carry current) The only resemblance is the look. The possibility of glowstone dust has some really cool potential. It could be used as a path, Decoration, light and it would also be useful for those 'extra' pieces of dust you have left over. One neat thing about having it connected to redstone though is it could be used to light up certain paths, but i think it would be difficult to link redstone and glowstone together.
Not to mention it's shiny! :laugh.gif:

Some people call me crazy, maybe, maybe.
But I've yet to meet someone who can outlast fire.
What about glowstone is pretty much a powerful repeater, It cant connect to switches and stuff, only redstone, But can go up to 16 blocks like a powerful repeater?

Its not your personality who makes you who you are, its your DNA.

All of the dust would be equally lit,if that is what you meant.
I think this is a great idea, and the picture posted represents what it could look like pretty well. Would be cool if, since it would follow the same placement mechanics of redstone, it would be possible to light up the sides of blocks.
maybe it could act like redstone, but it wouldn't cross up the wires. allowing for more compact designs :biggrin.gif:
The only problem with that is: if Glowstone dust acted like redstone then can't be placed vertically on blocks, this would clearly make it more difficult to create neon signs.

That brings up a good point. What would the light level of glowstone dust be? 7? 10? 15?
I do have to admit, neon signs would be awesome, but dying glowstone doesn't seem logical.
Jeb just needs to make an easy way to create light switches :biggrin.gif:
I guess you could use a redstone block for light switches and displays.
I want Red Glowstone!
Ohwait.
OT: I love this idea so much, I could give you a cookie.
But I'll just give you a +1
Light level should be equal to Torches, if not brighter.

I approve! :smile.gif:
Just a reminder, that picture was done in five minutes, if it was added to the game I'm sure it would look different.
Since i have no experiences in Java I'm not sure how are it would be to add it to the game.

Yes I do agree it does need the ability to deactivated/activated it, but i don't think redstone is the answer.
