Since I really don't use my Lapis Lazuli for anything other then blocks to make my house look cooler, I thought what could these this be used for and so I thought of a Lapis Portal.
The portal sends you to a floating island that is made out of Mossy Stone, Stone, Lapis Blocks, and has water falling from the top of the island to the enless bottem.
Here on this island is a gaint tower which has Stone Golems protecting the build which holds rare items in it. The island will only have Stone Golems,Skeletons, and Lazu Scorpions (there the size of spiders but are harder to kill due to being made of Lapis Lazuli).
The other idea I had for Lapis Lazuli are Lapis Staffs which can allow players change block types (dirt to stone), create golms/villagers, and even destroy material.
The way to make them is by using two stick and one Lapis Lazuli Block which makes the staff, and is fulled by Lapis Lazuli (dye). Each spell uses one (more more depending on the spell) Lapis Lazuli (dye) to make the spell work.
You can change the spell by using the Enchanting Table to select a spell (after using xp you have earned) and go to town.
This staff can come in handy when you want to change the blocks on your house, need villagers for your town, golems to help fight mobs, and get rid of unwanted blocks in your way.

So what do u guys think?
I read through about 2/3 and got bored. like ^^^^ they're saying, separate it into distinguishable groups.
from what I read this sounds like a second aether. maybe the portals could be used to get from one point to another? pop one in your mine and one in your house, presto, you've got a mining highway of uber convenience!or a way back home after a long and disappointing journey?
anyway, what I'm getting at is: think it trough some more, organize your bits and bobs, and maybe you can try you're hand at modding if you can't find someone eh?

Ya I'm not much of a Forum write so sorry about that and I think the portal connecting to your house to your mine is a great idea.
Lazuli, historically, was just a decoration block and should stay one in my opinion. It's really just a gem, you could make anything else more useful logically.

I think you should break up that wall of text.
You need to organize your ideas more.
Sorry well in sort, A Lapis Lazuli portal to a floating island with cool new stuff and mobs, and a Lapis staff to preform magic in minecraft.
