I have been working on an adventure map that revolves heavily around the concept of time travel paradoxes, so obviously it is critical that some cheater doesn't just bash through walls and get spoilers. I noticed an annoying thing when I was building my complex: the only way to prevent people from breaking through a wall is to use bedrock, or use obsidian and hope that the cheater gets bored after bashing through it for a minute. However, both of these "resistant" blocks are black and ugly looking unless under certain circumstances, and it is impossible to completely hide them unless you want to have 3 block thick walls between rooms ( ). So I thought of an idea to make cheat-proof adventure maps much more painless on the part of the map maker: add an indestructable, yet still textured block that is only accesible through the Creative/TMI inventory. Jeb has already done something like this (mob eggs) so obviously the concept of items only for Creative builders is not one he would be opposed to. I have a few ideas for what the way for determining the texture of the "AdventureBlock" would be:
Whatever the texture of the block below the AdvBlock is, that is the texure of the AdvBlock. If the block below is air, the texture is bedrock/special AdvBlock texture.
There is an item in the Creative inventory that is the "Wand" or something like that. When you click on an AdvBlock with one, it cycles through the textures. OR: when clicked on with a normal stick, the stick fills the job of the "wand" outlined above.
There is a version of the AdvBlock for every texture in the game selectable in the Creative inventory.
Other, I can't think of any others. Put your creative responses and ideas below.
Remember, this is not OP as it would only be accessible in Creative and you can already get an indestructible block, this is just prettier. What do you think? Is this a good idea? Would it help mapmakers at all? I want to know what you think.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Random acts of petty fanboyish hatred?
I think this would be quite an interesting and very useful idea, however I disagree strongly with having a version of it for every texture in the Creative inventory. Clutter is bad. Also, wouldn't it be easier to be a able to right-click it (or just interact with it in some way) with a block to just change the texture to the block used on it? I think this would be a bit simpler.

I want to know what you think. You put the adv block somewhere in the map, when you right clicknit, it puts options for the adv map on what the player cannot do and can do.
For example, option to break blocks and not break blocks, Y/N . And a option to break specific blocks. Just an idea :smile.gif:
