I think it would be awesome to be able to code my own world-making algorithms using a given seed. This wouldn't be easy to implement, but it would be sweet if it were implemented. I would love to download other people's terrain generation algorithms and explore the worlds they create. I get tired of using the same one over and over; exploring isn't as fun after one already knows most of what can be generated.
i wouldn't think there would be much point implementing this since the majority of people wouldn't have a clue how to code something as complicated as a terrain generation algorithm. you would probably be better off doing this with mods.
Maybe checkboxes and sliders would be a better way to go than having to code your own generator? The people with the skill to code their own have already done so.

I was thinking that there could be an easier way to do this. Like, very simple code that anyone could learn, like TMCMG, only more well integrated with Minecraft. Also, it would be less of a pain when updating.
Can LUA scripting be used to do this? I don't think it can, but if it can then I guess this will happen when Notch gets around to adding LUA.
