So I was playing MC on single player (I play it normal, no mods, just skins and texture packs)
and I had decided that I was going to relocate my house, build a new one in a new biome, find new locations to mine, etc.
Now anyone who has moved their entire 'base of operations' knows that when you are relocating - you're pockets and inventory are limited without a mod and you can only carry so much.
What if we could use string and wool to craft a backpack? Or rucksack? Maybe one that could be equipped to the players back just like the armor chest plates can?
So when you craft it, it could be like this (S-string / W-wool):
S - W - S
S - W - S
S - W - S
Then we could even have a keyboard command like 'B' or 'R' that will open it and it has extra room for you to carry more items.
If you're going mining - it sucks to fill up on redstone/pickaxes/coal/iron and then have to go back up to the surface to put it all in a house in a chest, just so you have room to go down again.
With the backpack/rucksack it makes moving, mining, farming, building, wood cutting, etc.
In my opinion, the player already has a backpack, I mean, it's not like all that stuff could fit in his pocket. However, some way to increase the inventory capacity would be interesting.

The statement below is true.
The statement above is false.
It is equipped on your top, that way you lose armor points to gain storage capacity. An idiot who is starting the game would think, "Hey! I'm going to wear one for convenience!" then dies from mobs.
The seasoned know-it-all would use it only for storage trips or in the safety of their mine.
I know other have already had the idea but I think it should just be added to the standard MC that way everyone can have it without a mod.
Wool or leather - maybe the wool be a smaller capacity than the leather?
and KyoShinda makes a good point, maybe it could be equipped on the top for newbs if it does get in the standard MC.
I like the fact that if you drop it the items stay contained. Much like the chest.
Another idea! Items in your backpack, after death(since they stay in it), would be able to be picked up again. You have a stack of diamonds on you? Put them in your backpack, if you die you can come back and pick up your backpack, no need to sort dropped items. Just hope you didn't die in lava...
That reminds me of the mod where if you had a chest in inv all the dropped items would go in it after death.
There is a rare mythical button called "Search" that likes to answer questions; however, due to its nature, it often blends in with its surroundings so as to remain hidden.
IT sucks so bad when you bring like 3 diamond picks and a stack of bread with you hoping to use them all up when suddenly after the first pick your inventory is filled with cobble.
Another idea besides the top as a backpack maybe for the leg slot you could have Leather pants/Jeans/Cargo shorts or something like that where you can hold 5 items in cargo pants and 2 in jeans.

The statement above is false.
It adds 10 spaces and you can drop this backpack and the items will still be contained.
