The basic proposition: An in-game system that allows for the saving and automatic placement of structures, effectively making a "copy and paste" feature for building.
It would work something like this; You build something, say a house. You then select your structure by highlighting the space that it occupies (a click and drag kind of thing). You save your structure. You can then copy that structure to any spot on the map (perhaps you would have to build some other structure, like a crane, in order to designate its location), and as long as you have the required materials, your structure will be built automatically at a specific time rate.
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.
What I'm looking for here is a seamless feature integrated right into the game.
Plus, MC Edit doesn't incorporate the materials that your actually collecting yourself.
In creative if would work, but you might as well just have it instant then. In survival it seems to defeat the purpose of the game. It makes for a much less time extensive experience reducing the "challenge" of the game. This of course being my opinion. I appreciate the "grind" in games to get somewhere or do something impressive. Not just how big and how perfect you can make something. If it poofs into existence or is done in your sleep it changes it entirely in my opinion.
