I'm not sure if anyone has posted this yet and if they have im sorry but what if there were special crafting benches that you would put a recipe in with enough resources to make the recipe multiple times then when its powered it will make the item as many times as it can. You would power it like you do with anything else by connecting it with redstone to a power souce. If you were to use a button as a power source every time you press it would make one item. But if you were to use something like a lever and you turned it on you would also have to put in a timer type thing to set the interval of when an item is created. You could use this to make minecart generators or other things too.

oki dont know what buildcraft is and i konow about the shift click thing but im saying that you could just press a button and like a minecart would appear instead of having to manually craft a new one each time
BuildCraft is a mod which adds pipes to the game that you can transport blocks through. They can take blocks/items from chests put them into furnaces smelt them etc. You can also make an automatic crafting table, that you put a recipe on and attach pipes to (or don't if you don't feel like it). They when blocks go through the pipes and onto the table, the recipe will automatically double up all of the items, and when it gets powered by redstone, it will craft that item. I enjoyed this mod when I played it. Go search for it on the forums it's pretty fun!

I'm not sure I see the point of this. It's not often I find myself in the need to craft multiple items at the same time and I'm not able to use the shift click method.
If I understand this right this would be a block that act like a mixture between a crafting table and a dispenser?
Would the crafting bench just eject the finished items? Or would the items be stored inside the powered crafting bench just like with a furnace?
And why would pressing a button to make a minecart be easier?
You can already to much of this with minimal effort.
You want minecarts to pop out by the press of a button?
-Shift craft nine minecarts and put them inside a dispenser.
You want to have a minecart arrive at your rail station by the press of a button?
-Make a minecart PEZ-dispenser.
The only thing I can think of is that it might be kind of cool to make an automatic bakery where you insert a stack of wheat and you get a loaf of bread when you press a button, but bread are super easy to craft as they don't need cooking. And it's not that hard to make something similar by adding a stack of meat into a furnace and then afterwards move the entire stack of cooked meat to a dispenser.

It's called a warnable offence. Read the sticky.
