well i was laying outside one night watching the stars and i seen a shooting star it gave me kinda of an idea for minecraft. what if there were shooting stars in minecraft at night you can watch the stars and see a shooting star possibly but some that crash to earth and create a small crater where they land and also burn trees. but when you go to investigate this fallen star you see wierd hostile mobs moving away from it. and also normal hostile mobs moving torwards it or disfigured hostile mobs moving away from it. when you come to the crash site you see a wierd black rock that has wierd fire all around it in the crater you quickly rush home and get a bucket of water to pour on it and you put out all the fire in the crater and go down to examine the wierd rock you notice that it has a wierd effect on your items and that ur getting hurt from it but you notice that your enchanted chestplate and legs are keeping you from getting hurt to badly(doesnt effect enchanted items so if your wearing enchanted gear youll be safe) well you want to examine it in a better light so you start placing torches and they just keep going out like your placing them in water. so you wonder if its possible to mine it and move it or craft with it so you start to hit it with your iron pick which is enchanted with effiecency and after about 15 seconds it breaks apart and drops 6 meteorite chunks which you carry home with you at your house you put all the chunks on a crafting bench and you make a whole meteorite which you then place down and it puts out your torches so you place jack-o-lanterns down and they miracuosly stay lit but you realize they have a wierd glow to them but when you break them nothing happens. well then you decide you want to make a sword and other tools out of the wierd meteorite so you craft a meteorite sword with 2 of the chunks and you craft a shovel and a pick with the last 4 chunks. the sword seems like its already been enchanted because it has special abilitys. but when you put it on an enchantment table you realize that it gets stronger enchantments at a lower level the same things happen when you try this with the shovel and pick.(havnt really thought of the type of enchantments these weapons and tools could start with). everything would be craftable but this would just be like a rare ore thats a tiny bit stronger than diamond. well let me know what you guys think of my idea and leave a comment if you have any other ideas that should be added.
Anyways, most meteors (about 90%) are made of meteoric iron, so getting meteorite chunks does make sense.
Not so sure about the rest of the stuff.
I would support meteor tools if:
1: Meteors weren't extremely rare, yet not common either. About a 10% chance of a meteor strike once each Minecraft night.
2: The tools had higher durability than iron, but lower durability than diamond in order to help fill the gap between their durability.
3: Meteoric Iron Tools could only break what Iron tools break, but enchantments are 50% more effective.

On number 3, I think they should be able to break obsidian, fairly quickly at that, but with a fifty percent chance of the obsidian disintigrating.
I think that rather than having all these weird things happen, the meteorite should simply be a simply 5 by 5 block of Iron, with a big blast crater around and rather than making Jeb make new mobs, just simply have Silverfish spawn next to it.
Of course, this is a super easy way to get 9 x 25 Iron Ingots, so this should happen very rarely.
Also, if you could organize the text, it would be much easier to understand :smile.gif:
Also also, perhaps a silverfish spawner will form inside the very center of the meteorite.
