It is 1.0.0, and we have been gifted with brewing and enchanting. But the wizard inside all of us is missing. That is why we must gather the elements of nature, to cast spells beyond our wildest dreams!
In order to begin, we must start with the basis of all the spells;the Magic Pearl.
Crafting requires 4 glass blocks arranged around one eye of ender.
Then, you must craft a wand with 2 sticks on the bottom and middle center, with the pearl on top. You are now ready to begin placing spells on your wand!
Spells and wands
Fire Wand: This wand is made by adding one already crafted wand with 1-3 blaze powder. The more powder you use, the more powerful spells you get. The following lists the spells on the Fire Staff.
Level I Fireball: Shoots a small fireball that ignites one block or mob.
Level II Ring of Fire: Defensive ring of fireballs that orbits you.
Level III Fire Blast: Fires a large number of explosive fireballs.
Water Wand: It is crafted with the staff and 1-3 water buckets.
Level I Water Splash: Places water on affected area.
Level II Floating Squid of Justice: The Squid of Justice protects you from damage.
Level III Tsunami: Large water wave which knocks back mobs.
Wind Wand: This wand is crafted with the staff and 2-6 feathers (feathers are a bit easy to get).
Level I Gust: A light pushback.
Level II Tornado: Creates a small tornado that pulls mobs towards it.
Level III Hurricane: Super enhanced tornado.
Earth Wand: This staff is made with 1-3 gold ore.
Level I Lift Earth: Lift a column of earth out of the ground.
Level II Summon Golem: Summons a stone golem to protect you.
Level III Diamond Skin: You cannot move or use items, but you are temporarily invulnerable.
thats a nice idea for a mod maybe you should add like robes that enhanct magical power so for exapmle if you are wearing leather robes your fireball does 3 instead of 2 damage if iron 4 if gold 6 id dimaond 5 and have it do someting like that so robes let you do more damge so you look like a real mage while getting added effects instead of just looking good
Hmm... How about the wand has a certain durability, but upgrading it also improves durability? And of course, casting higher-leveled spells takes more durability away.
Level I Spell - takes 1 use
Level II Spell - takes 4 uses
Level III Spell - takes 8 uses
And then, the wand upgrades:
Level I Wand - 64 uses
Level II Wand - 72 uses - 10% stronger than before
Level III Wand - 128 uses - 15% stronger than before
Level IV Wand (Elite Wand) - 256 uses - 20% stronger than before, 5% chance to not use up durability while casting spell
And to select a spell with the wand, all you would need to do is highlight the wand in the hotbar. From there, a smaller menu of the three spell levels would pop up. You could use the arrow keys to switch between the spells. That, or when you have the wand ready, you could hold down the fire button similar how you would charge a bow, and the longer you charge, the higher level the spell becomes.
It'd also be cool if you could only use a certain amount of magic a day. There could be a blue Mana bar below the EXP bar. You could cast up to 48 "duration points" a day.
It seems kind of overpowered, though. Wands and such should be incredibly hard to use or come by - how about you make it so you have to 'learn' the spells? Maybe you could enchant a book, and it becomes a Tome of Knowledge, and it tells you how to use magic.
If you would like to suggest any more, please feel free to! Thank you for taking your time to read this :biggrin.gif:!
The ideas and concepts are great, but is a bit too magical for Minecraft. I don't think Minecraft is getting any more magical than enchantments tables. Just what i think.

Seems interesting!
For potions, it probably wouldn't be too hard for a non-wizard to figure out how to boil together ingredients. It's basically cooking.
For enchanting, Steve seems to be reading a random enchantment out fo a random page from a book,
To be honest, I would consider the negative effect splash potions close enough to spell casting.
