I'd like a type of light that would turn on when powered by redstone. It'd be nice: Like setting one around a dungeon, and turning on the lights when not using the spawner, and turning them off when you are. They could be crafted like a torch but with a redstone under the stick, making 5 'Powered Torches'. They would give off level 13 light, 1 more than a regular torch.
Yes this idea has been suggested Avogadro's number of times (6.02 x 10^23) But it's a decent idea and I'm wondering why Notch (And/Or Jeb And/Or Minecraft staff in general) hasn't added this into MC. Yes you can do it with pistons. Yes you can do it with redstone Torches. Piston Lights often take up more space than is available and redstone torch lights are too dim.

What if glowstone blocks functioned like redstone torches in that when powered, they turn off?
Then when unpowered again they glow again. Seems pretty easy to implement. Just tweak the code of good ol' #89 so it changes into a new block (Deactivated glowstone) when powered. Same way redstone torches work. Only it has no redstone outputs.
Long story short, it's a NOT-gate that outputs light instead of redstone's 1 or 0.Oh and torches give off 14 light BTW, not 12. . Glowstone gives off 15.

Plus, you can do this with pistons already.
