So, I suggest that the furnace (while being in use) should have a very small chance to spit out a random ember, which would light flammable blocks on fire if it comes into contact.
Because accidents can always happen.
Maybe only have a chance if the fuel source is powerful, like...
-lava bucket
-blaze rod
-coal (lower chance)
I think the chance of it happening should be really really low, kind of like the chance of being struck by lightning in the game.
What do you think? What do you think should affect the chance of an ember? Which fuel sources should give a chance for an ember to fly out?
That would be really cool, i think. Having something as hot as lava contained in a furnace is bound to have some bad side-effects. I dunno if it would be a good thing to implement though, because well.. wooden houses are pretty common as far as i know, and burning them down is usually a very bad thing. So maybe the furnace would only spit out the ember onto the block directly in front of it where the opening is. That way you don't have to make a room entirely out of your inflammable block of choice, just one block.
I love this idea! In life, S*$& happens, so it should in Minecraft! Also, there should also be the slightest possibility that either lava starts flowing out of it, or that it just blatantly explodes. Now THAT would be cool.
