i tried to make a small canal in-between two bodies of water the other day. i dug the canal, water rushed in from both sides and just continued flowing. the water wasn't falling into a hole, but it just kept flowing- it never filled the canal. i made it halfway through the canal with my boat, but i couldn't go upstream and out the other side - i got stuck in the middle.
It would be nice if we could connect bodies of water that are at the same block height.
I'm not sure if it's possible, but i thought it'd be a good suggestion.
I hope that all made sense.

Download the FiniteLiquid mod! Or you can place water every second block and see what happens!

I don't care about winning, I just want everyone else to loose.
That's how the old old water worked but, the other issue involving those mechanics is if you were to place a water source block in the sky then everything below it becomes Atlantis. The current water physics may seem strange but, it comes with benefits. I would suggest reading the article on water in the minecraft wiki.
