Let's say you've wanted to have some redstone-piston door to open ONLY at night for some reason....or any scenario that you want your redstone to shut off at night, but be kept on during day. I've been thinking that it would function like a redstone torch, but would be in an off state during the night, and the on state during day. You can attach it to redstone activated items (like dispensers, pistons, iron doors, ect.) perpindicular to that device to share its power, or have it as a power source for the reds one wire.
it would be made like this
meaning Redstone Repeater
meaning a clock
After crafting, it would yield 4 of these.
Pretty self explanatory.
Redstone Timer -=-=-=-=-=-
For this one, It would be more like the solar panel, but you would be able to SET WHEN you want the current of redstone to be powered/ turned off, regardless of the time of day. There could be three formats: Time in "ticks", Time in standard format (12:00), or a time of day (Dawn, Dusk, but not just anytime of day or night, it works in either, unlike the solar panels). With this in mind you can have contraptions go off at any specified time of a Minecraft day, maybe even the duration of its on state. Note: you may even make a current shut off also, with the timer, not only when it turns on. For placing it, you can Attach it directly to a piston, dispenser, powered rail, ect. or have it parallel or within the redstone current.
It would be crafted like this:
Meaning redstone torch
Meaning clock
After crafting this, it will yield 2 of these.
I hope this will motivate some support in redstone fanatics xD but also have another use for the clock! Thanks for reading.
You can already make both of these with redstone. I don't see why we need them as separate blocks. Redstone is based on circuitry, not 1 little block satisfying all your needs.
