This is an idea based off Minicraft, the game the Notch made for Ludam Dare.
It's the idea of an ENERGY BAR instead of a Hunger Bar. It makes much more sense!
You heal when you are rested and have energy, not when you are full.
You sprint when you have energy, not when you are full.
etc...
The Energy Bar would be different because it would regenerate MUCH FASTER. Walking would keep you flickering at (Rested). Sprinting would obviously drain it but since it regenerates quickly, it would be about the same use.
Hiding during battle would give you a chance to heal up. Food would be used during Tired and Exhausted stages to speed up the regeneration of energy. Energy drains over walking very slowly but energy will never be at full unless you are non mobile.
The Energy bar has 3 sections.
Normal: Swimming, Sprinting, Walking Regens Energy Quickly
Tired: Moves slower, you will begin to drown, cannot sprint. Regens Energy Slowly
Exhausted: Will make you take damage like starvation if you move about, cannot jump or move quickly Regens Energy Slowly
Hyper: This happens after being on Normal but then eating something like Cake or Cookies or periods of inactivity. You walk faster...etc. Drains quickly. It's like an UberCharge, it will build up if you are resting OR if you are doing damage to mobs at a certain rate.
What is so bad about hunger?!?! There's so many sources of food in minecraft now that it's so easy to collect food. I sprint everywhere and never run out of food. It's not difficult at all, just deal with it.

i dont like hunger either. but this makes hunger more realistic
this is about improving it. also making it more realistic while adding a new system to minecraft.
