The game has had a mob that was born in Survival Test, and died in Survival Test, although it is still in the game. Giants. In one tale, Jack and the Beanstalk, he plants magic beans and creates a beanstalk up to the clouds. In the clouds are giants, and Jack eventually gets Golden Eggs. This, is the basis of my suggestion.
Main Idea
In a dungeon chest, you may find Magic Beans. Magic Beans can be planted on farmland. After about a Minecraft week, the magic bean will instantly grow into a very tall beanstalk - it goes up to the clouds, but not the height limit. The beanstalk block can be climbed, but when destroyed, it yields nothing. If you climb up to the top of the beanstalk, you will find yourself on a circular platform of Mossy Cobblestone. Somewhere on the platform will be a Giant Spawner. If you manage to defeat the Giants and remove the Spawner, you should be able to make your way to the edges of the platform with up to 4 small chests (4 is very rare, 1 is very common). Inside the small chests are goodies. The most important goodies are Golden Eggs. You can find a max of 16 golden eggs in each chest.
The Golden Eggs can be thrown just like normal eggs. Though, unlike normal eggs, they spawn Golden Chicks. These are a very rare mob, so it's best to keep them safe. Once they grow up into Golden Chickens, they will start to lay golden eggs as if it were a normal chicken laying normal eggs.
You are probably wondering right about now, "What is the use of a golden chicken?". If you kill a golden chicken, it will not only drop Raw Chicken, but Golden Feathers. The golden feathers can be crafted into Golden Arrows, a special type of arrow. There is no need to craft a new type of bow for these arrows. A bow will start to fire Golden Arrows, if any, when it's durability is low. It's sort of like a last resort.
The Golden Arrows aren't just more powerful than normal arrows. They pierce the enemy's skin, leaving it weaker than before. In other words, it makes your attacks do more damage. A charged golden arrow followed by a diamond sword strike should finish off a Ghast with ease.

Hey, nice storyline. Honestly, it doesn't seem like something that would be implemented into the game, though. Maybe you should call together some programmers and have them make it into a mod. I could start a topic in mod suggestions asking people to help, if you wanted me to.

haha, that's exactly what i was thinking, 'cool story, bro', but it doesn't really fit in with the Minecraft feel
