I'm a big fan of atmosphere in Minecraft, and one thing that always makes me cringe is when you can see into the void from ground level. This happens when you are really high up looking over an not-yet-generated world, or really any time looking through the ocean. This also means you can see the sun from unusual angles, like before it rises. I propose too solutions to this.
The first solution is to the ocean problem. I suggest adding a sort of forced horizon line. Something that covers the sun, moon, and void below what would normally be the horizon, but doesn't actually need to be generated. Perhaps it could be a dark hemisphere on the bottom half of the world that stays stationary.
The second idea is something to cover up the visible void in generating terrain(or the horizon, if added), which is currently creating an ugly jagged edge to your world. A layer of mist could extend over the generating terrain, almost as if some sort of fog is clearing from your vision. This could both be pretty and cover up an eyesore at the same time.
Now of course I am sure there are technical things that could be done with terrain generation to improve it, but I am not a programmer. These are just some little ideas that I feel could take away some unappealing aspects of Minecraft, allowing people like me to become more submerged in its atmosphere.
Does anyone have alternate ideas?

Minecraft makes me feel like I'm three. Playing with blocks and afraid of the dark.
Edit: I mean, there should be a way to speed up the terrain rendering, and make the rendering go further. I think you need to actually find the terrain generator in MCP and edit it out so that it will respond quicker.

Curse PremiumNot what I meant. I meant that it would just cover up the void, and disappear as it generated. I guess its just me then.
Also, nutella ftw.
