True, it probably would be easy enough to code, but I'm sure all sorts of problems could be created when you're trying to share worlds. Or not, I don't know. I really don't know about that aspect of things, but I'm still of the opinion that it's not really Mojang's problem. I wouldn't complain if this was implemented, but generally, it's not a widespread feature in games, nor an expected one. Should it be? I don't know, I've never had problems with people messing around with my account.
So, I don't see any problems with it, but nor do I see it as a high-priority addition.

Well, I guess when worlds are moved to another computer or something, I guess the password could stay with it or not when you move it. I guess you could change those preferences in the application.
It's not exactly high priority, as you could just backup your worlds manually, it's just an idea to make things a little easier.
"Against all the evil that Hell can conjure, all the wickedness that mankind can produce; We will send unto them... only you."
Colored text indicates in-character statements/actions. Because Forum Games has basically just been a big open RP for a long time now and it's the only place I ever post anymore, when I post at all.
Unfortunately, I'm afraid that this would be rendered pointless because they can easily load it up in a program like MCedit to bypass the password. Good idea, though.
2. The my brother/sister/cat/dog/eviltwin did it is just a excuse
3. You can already just log out and stuff like that
You are missing my point. I'm talking singleplayer. And if someone else in your house has a Minecraft account, and you log out, then if someone logs back in on THEIR account, it offers NO extra protection for your worlds. Your account name just becomes useless unless you choose to use Multiplayer.
supported, this hasnt happened to me, but i think it WILL happen considering my little brother is getting older and smarter...becoming a bigger troll than he already is...

Well, if your talking singleplayer, just put Minecraft on a hard-drive and ween your done playing it take the hard-drive out
If I were sharing a computer I would just install Minecraft onto a removable flash memory stick. You might also just be able to have two installed copies on different location on the hard drive and use the system security to make sure no other accounts on the computer have access to those files.
I'm just going to tell you what everybody else will.
1) Shut your computer down once in a while, or hide your MC folders. Attach it to a hard drive or something.
2) LOCK your computer; anybody else need to use it? Unlock it for THEM.
3) Lock up the file MC's in.
4) Get another computer and tell your neighbor to GTFO and he may as well steal your fridge while he's at it.
5) Don't complain on the forums like this; you sound whiny and obnoxious just from that first post. If it's that big of a problem, use your LOGICZ before posting.
1.(unessessary) Put a shortcut to your .minecraft folder.
2.When you leave, put your maps on a usb key/Hidden folder IN the .minecraft folder so it will be easy access
SECOND OPTION
Hide the minecraft launcher somewhere in the documents
THIRD OPTION
Do a Window session for YOURSELF with a password and do a session for your brother.
I don't know, I kind of like the idea of password protected worlds online. At the very least, it's a nice intermediary between dictator whitelists and communist open servers.
I mean it's not exactly fool-proof, but that's what these peer-review type forums are for.

Beat the **** out of your little brother.
That'll teach him not to mess with your minecraft worlds.

May I recommend that a moderator try and merge the two topics together, zipper style?
