I was wondering why I see pigs, sheep cows, etc. on the cliff of a mountain.
I think if there arent gonna me mountain goats, just add the animals off the animals. It get's old and should be changed. For some reason I'm getting dajavu. xD I don't really know. What does everyone think?
Since I make models, if no one takes this, I'll make a mod of this. I'll like to actually see it addded
And Please.... If you wanna troll, do it on someone elses page
what use will they provide?
why does it matter?
why should we even listen to you, if you're to immature to take criticism?
why do I like cows?
where's David Bowie?

Meat! Der, or possibly horns. They proally can be used to call tamed animals over if thats ever added. The horn could also be used as a weapon! Why does it matter? There are barely any mobs. Immature to criticism? Why not just not go on my page, why do you like cows? They give you milk, and that turns into cake. David Bownie? You go me stuck on that one...
Alright, the problem here is that this is just a "thrown out there" suggestion. It has no substance. That doesn't automatically make it bad, but it does mean that there's really nothing to show what makes it a good idea either. The mob needs a purpose. So let's add some traits that will make it useful in game. In other words, a reason to have it:
First off, let's decide that they're a daytime hostile mob with 5-Hearts and an attack strength of 1-Heart, with strong knockback. To contrast Slimes at low altitudes, Mountain Goats will only spawn above a height of X. Their AI will be scripted to try to knock the player towards the nearest ledges if possible...such that their main threat will be causing the player to take fall damage. Balancing this, they will go passive and follow if you are holding an Apple, and Apples may be used to tame them, similar to wolves, giving an extra use to all the apples that are now dropping from trees. So, why tame them?
Can be sheared for wool, but produce less blocks than sheep.
Can be milked like a cow, but take twice as long before they can be milked again.
Goat Milk is a different item from Milk, but like Charcoal to Coal, can be used the same.
New food, made by cooking Goat Milk: Goat Cheese. Restores three hunger plus 9.6 saturation.
What does all this mean? Mountain Goats become a mob that serves several purposes. First, they create an additional hazard when climbing. Moreover, though risky to try and tame, they will prove their worth for those who do by providing a single animal that serves the role of two, albeit trading efficiency for versatility. Finally, the Goat Cheese food item serves as an easy-to-make alternative food, that falls in-between Bread/Fish and Mushroom Stew. On the other hand, the lower end of the spectrum isn't made useless by this, as the increased time between milkings, and need to process the Goat Milk one bucket at a time in a Furnace (I imagine you getting the bucket back) means that both of the less filling alternatives are also easier to mass-produce.

This would be very cool. I think even cows should have a milk recharge. An animal with knockback would be awesome.
Usually cows try to knock me off of mountains but I think it has met its match. The only issue I have is, why should I bother going to the tops of mountains? There's nothing up there(except the goats which is an okay incentive unless you consider it's dangerous).
The funny thing is, it's ironic how mountains are the most interesting biome but there's still no point to climbing to the top. :/

Hmm...I recalled Cows as having a milking cooldown. I wonder if I was mistaken. :huh.gif:
They really should, though. At least at half what their breeding cooldown is.
In any case, yes, there really should be something good in mountaintops. I've seen several suggestions for high-altitude ores, and I can think of other things that would be good to add too. At present, the only thing I can really think of is a house with a good view, or trying to build Nether Portals closer to Glowstone.
Really though, other improvements to mountains would need a separate topic.
I do not enjoy having to remove more than half of the posts in a thread because someone may have trouble writing in English and is doing their best to follow our board rules.
Keep it in line this time guys. Giving out warnings is a pain and nobody enjoys having to deal with them.
