I want it to be like a light version of skyrim. dangerous people running around and random villagers with knights or barbarians, and stuff like that :biggrin.gif:

It's all fun and games till someone takes an arrow to the knee
This is brilliant. Expanding biomes and structures would be really groovy for Minecraft.
What about floating islands high up near the sky limit with some like, heavenly, villages!
heavenly...I love it! :smile.gif: I'll give you credit for the idea when I edit it a little later.

Nice idea, i think that should be the "heavenly vilages"

Genius! Maybe NPC sky villages could be added to the Aether mod, and later the Aether and all of these ideas could be added to original Minecraft!
I think we really just need the villages to actually to do something first.
How about if Millenaire-style trading was implemented with new goods? Also, maybe building up the town and killing monsters will make the villagers trust you and defend you as soldiers.
If you guys want more ideas on what npc villages are capable of read my recent post "Life in the Towns" Just my ideas about npc villages and what they are capable of doing to mc and the overall game play in general.
We should have more different villages, like maybe in deserts, there would be an "egyptian" village, with a few large pyramids, with torches holding them up, with some "decorations" inside, and should be surrounded by a 1 foot deep moat of water, where there would be some wheat next to it. In plains, there would be the default village, the same as it currently is, and in swamp, there should be Persians maybe? The village there would have a big workshop with lots of furnaces and some crafting tables and one small pit of lava. In tundra, there would be, well I don't know the name, any suggestions? Well, in tundra the village would have one closed room with torches on the walls, and netherrack on the ground, lit on fire for warmth. Also, there is a workshop with a lava pit and a few furnaces. No crafting tables. Finally, in the mountainy area, there would be a village with a big dome lid (to protect against "avalanches") and inside was a big "arena" where there were seats and stairs upwards, and torches lighting up the area. There also is an enchanting area. In oceans, there would be an island with a "fish tank" and a few shacks made of bricks (bricks are made of clay, clay is underwater!), and it has a bridge leading to the closest nearby stretch of land. (suggested by CubeWanderer) Finally, in the nether there would be villages made of nether brick, just simply some houses, and a "workshop" with lava pits and a few furnaces. You can feed them food, and they'll return you some nether-related items. (suggested by iceyy981) If you liked this idea, to help my reputation, can you press please? Thanks! :smile.gif:
If you have any ideas or suggestions regarding this, post please! I look forward to your ideas!
Eventually this might be implemented it would definitely be interesting if growing villages mixed will sea villages.

Um... I don't know. What is this "Millenaire"? Also, you should get a specified job to do for them to trust you.
Millenaire is a very popular mod that features trading with new special NPC villages. It also has a reputation system and gives you the ability to influence the village in a variety of ways. Google it for further information.

wait a minute! I actually downloaded it once! Yeah, it's not bad...but I removed it later on.

Firstly, LOL at this. :laugh.gif:
Secondly, new idea. Maybe instead of biome-inspired villages, have material-based villages, like cobblestone villages, obsidian villages, wood plank villages, or brick villages. Any other sugggestions on this idea?

I was actually thinking about that, it should be an achievement. Shooting an adventurer in the knee.

As of me posting this it says a foot deep moat of water for desert villages. A block is a meter cubed. A meter is about 3.3 feet.
Oh wait! There is!
