I was talking with Vic and LucanC and ZomBuster (and some others) about the game, because I just saw the survival update. I was in washington :<
Well, we came to the conclusion that there should be three modes with the content we have now. Survival, Sandbox, and Life. (or sim, or rpg, whatever.)
Sandbox should be what it is now, with signs and plants growing into trees. No health. No resources. it's sandbox, after all.
Survival should be what it is, except it should change from day to night. Then the mobs TRY to find you and kill you. I'm sure that kind of AI would be difficult, and also teaching them to make stairs, but if you can think of another way around it, it'd be great.
Life mode. Beutiful idea, imo. No mobs. Animals, wild fruits, berries, roots, and others to gain health back. I think there should be sheep that have blocks on their backs, as wool, that you can break and get white cloth from. Then there should be ways to dye it, to get others. Pigs and Cows should give out pork and steak that gains life back. Also, when you dig, you should find bugs that you can eat :tongue.gif: for a half life back. There should also be animals like bears and aligators that can eat you, but you can kill for lots of food. Also, tools should be added, along with weapons. Ways to smelt, and things like axes to chop down trees, giving you logs instead of planks. Maybe adding fish and fishing rods. Horses that you can ride, and warthogs that you can ride, but with very low control :tongue.gif:
Maybe in the future you could go as far as breeding crops and animals, but that's ALOT of codes. And I don't think we need sex in the game D:
Also, I think we could use a software like vintrilo and teamspeak, just for fun :tongue.gif:
Sorry if I've repeated stuff here. Tell me what you think, and the point is to add on to the game, so post variations or easier methods of this stuff too ;D

You can already use that software. In my opinion we need a voice communication system in the game itself.
Also, life mode sounds like survival without the danger. Doesn't sound very fun. The suggestions you made for the life mode sound good though, they should certainly be in survival.

I would gladly pay 10 times the price for this game to NOT have built in voice chat. Giving griefers (and idiot kids) an extra way to annoy a whole server? Pass.

The idea is good if you totally ignored the community, but then when you consider who plays this game and the population of griefers the idea becomes one that really wouldn't work.
I'd say an external Vent would be all that's needed if you want to speak to other people, I'm perfectly fine with the text system (except for the fact that you can't press the left arrow to fix minor details and you got to delete all the way back to fix something, and the limits of text and so many other things).

Hell, let's make Second Life again! But seriously, it doesn't sound like a bad idea. Maybe add in a wife (or two) for extra support and stuff like that. Hey, let's even have children in this! And when we die, we reincarnate as one of the children! And then we grow a colony! And the colony goes to war with the undead! And we form a government! And then we-
I'm falling to much on a tangent to end that post. Anyway, it's a nice idea.
I agree with Viisiri. Maybe like, only the Ops could talk.
But that still raises the problem, what if the Op is some 12 year old with Lisp/filled nostrils and an anger management problem.

Also, muting people can be implemented...
So, uh, stop complaining? It's a good idea for those who will not abuse it.
