After reading a very interesting post about icebergs, I heard a cool idea where u can freeze inside the iceberg and
lose health cause its so cold. I liked this idea but wanted to change it a bit.
Throughout minecraft we have found ways to make minecraft more exciting and challenging, the hunger bar is a good
example. it added realistic and fun challenges to staying alive.
Now i think a good feature to add and to start a new year for minecraft could be the temperature bar, different biomes would have a different average temperature and it could get colder or slightly warmer on different days For
example In a snowy biome the average temp could be 15-32 F and on diffrent days it could get hotter or warmer within
that range. It could also affect the snow fall and if it got hot enough could melt snow. If you stayed out to long in
under20 Degree Temps you would start to freeze after 2 minutes and your screen would tint blue and u would eventually
lose hearts.
Same in extreme heat. if it were to get over 100 degrees it would turn u screen red or orange and you would
have to find a way to cool off. Water is a great way to drop your temp in desert biomes while in snowy biomes it
could kill you. And torchs fire and lava could heat you or the area up a ton in snowy biomes. and really hurt you in
desert biomes. Glowstone would be better to use in warmer biomes. The nether would be 110 degrees but soul sand could
be cold to the touch and could provide use.
Temps could get colder the darker it gets dropping as low as 20 degrees below normal depending on how dark it
is. and it could affect game play in caves better. it would get warmer if you were near lava. or colder if you were
far away. there could be a new craftable item called a thermometer which could be crafted with a bucket of mercury in
the middle and glass all around it. Liquid mercury would be a liquid block found 20 blocks and lower and would damdge
you if you touched it like lava giveing you a poisening which would last about 5 secs. The thermometer would be green
at moderate temperatures red a hot temps and blue at cold temps.
I think this would be a fun and even more challenging addition to minecraft and for thoughs who dont like it
can turn it off in the options. It would make a great mod but I also think it would make a great addition to Vanilla
Minecraft please share your opinions, support, or constructive criticism on how this can be improved. :smile.gif:Please excuse any bad spelling or grammar. Im truly horrible at it.
I'd say you should have hot weather do a lot less damage than cold weather, and at a much slower rate, considering that it is mostly dehydration and exposure which kills people in high temperatures. Therefore the way to prevent damage would be to drink water or potions.

I don't know sled teams but I do know I put my dog on an electric treadmill once and dangled a chicken leg. Treadmill puppy ensued.
i think that if you freeze, you will be frozen in place and you have to click 10 or so times with a pickaxe or sword to break the ice freezing you. Very nice idea!

It would make sense but for both of them it should be a while for it to kill you cause it sure would suck if u spawned
inside a snowy biome and dident have enough time to find coal. Another thing i might wanna add is that u should die
faster the colder or hotter it is and that the ender should be -10 degrees
