If you are like me, one of the best archers in Minecraft, then you'd probably want some updates to the Bow and maybe some new arrows. I have a few ideas.
Bow Enchantments
First off, there's Streamline. It increases accuracy, which means it goes directly to where you're aiming at. In other words, it goes completely straight.
Next, there's Unbreakable, which has already been created for other tools.
Then, there's Power Draw. It makes the arrow more powerful.
New Arrows
Bomb Arrow - This arrow explodes when it hits something. It has the same power and range as a creeper's explosion, but it is a heavier than normal arrows, so it can't go as far.

Flaming Arrow - This arrow burns the flammable object it touches, even mobs! To craft it, it would require a new mob that I call the Phoenix. When the Phoenix is killed, it drops a Flaming Feather, which can be crafted to make the Flaming Arrow. = Flaming Arrow.

Ender Arrow - Crafted from the shards of an Ender Pearl, you get 10 of these arrows from crafting it. When shot, if it hits an Enderman it instantly kills it and forces the Enderman to drop an Ender Pearl. = Ender Pearl.

Armor Piercing Arrow - This arrow does a ton more damage than a normal arrow, as it is crafted using iron.

Hunting Arrow - Why waste precious arrows that you worked so hard for on pigs? I wouldn't want to farm skeletons and chickens, break gravel, and chop trees just to use them to get delicious porkchops. Here's where the cheap hunting arrow flies in. It's crafted with nothing but sticks and a Wooden Plank.

TNT arrows = griefers dream.
Fire arrows could be made with blaze powder maybe? Instead of a whole new mob for an OP arrow.
Armor piercing arrows? Like I said, bows are OP as it is.
Weaker arrows too, hmm. Flint and a feather isn't much extra materials for arrows that are better.
It create a large amount of lingering smoke, good for marking locations for other players as well as for blinding players or forcing archers to move in PVP.

Personally, I think you are going in the wrong direction. It isn't your fault, the current game mechanics are making you go that way. I think instead of adding things to archery, we should redefine it so adding things becomes balanced.
What do I mean? Basically, I think a stamina system would fix something like this. How well you use the bow shouldn't just depend on how long you hold a mouse button. If we had a complex and realistic stamina system, archery would change...
-how well you aim would depend on how focused you are (head stamina). Just like in real life, you have to be focused on archery. You can't be out of breath, you can't have just ran a marathon, and you can't be starving.
-how "strong" you pull back the bow should depend on how strong your hands are (upper body stamina), as well as how rested they are. If you just mined tons of blocks, it would make sense that your arms feel tired and you can't pull back the bow that strong.
-reloading your bow. This would take time, depending on both your upper body stamina, and your head stamina. If either of these are low, there is an increased chance that you "fumble", and drop your arrow, and have to do it again. Also if you are hit by a mob, there should be a chance it causes you to fumble a reload, or accidently drop an arrow you have "charged".
On the other end, if you have a strong upper body, and are well rested, you should be able to shoot the arrow pretty strong, and where you want it to go. I suggest we have a sort of "skill experience", where if you shoot the bow often, it is easier for you.
And now, we can add these great enchantment ideas and arrows of yours. Perhaps the arrows would take more energy to pull, or require more concentration to aim. The enchantments would be helpful!
The only idea I like is TNT arrows, but I'd prefer it if they added magical staves instead, and if the earth staff (example) fired explosive shots maybe. I think that we should be able to enchant bows rather than enchant individual arrows, because then all arrows fired with that bow will have the same effect and there will be no arrow conflicts.

You should have at least added damage to these.
