Ok, I'm not sure how possible this is or the probability of it but...
I was thinking that instead of having to do this 20 step procedure to install mods where I have to download 5 other files besides the mod itself and run this patcher and this patcher's patcher... and so on and so forth just to end up having the entire procedure fail for some unknown reason that I can't trouble shoot or do anything with, why not have a mod button? Now as far as I know most if not all mods require the .jar to be opened and have a specific file put into the .jar... now I don't know if this one file is the same file type for each mod that requires this, but if it is then this addition would really be helpful, now instead of having to follow this long procedure why not have a mod button in the game menu like the Texture Pack button, with texture packs you only have to drag, drop, open minecraft and select the texture pack from the list. Why can't it be this simple with mods? Why not write into the game code a program that pulls the file that needs to be pulled into the .jar into the .jar automatically and then as far as I know, it will get the instructions on how to use the rest of the files from the addition to the .jar. This will save a lot of time and make installing mods FAR easier and far less of a hassle. Please give opinions below... and if you have something to say like "It can't be done." or "It doesn't work like that." then please explain to me why it can't possibly be coded that way...
So there are some mod installers that do that for you like Captain Sparkles but most mod makers don't do this. And Jeb is working on a Mod GUI so just wait a while. :smile.gif:

Uuuhh.. Jeb is coding a Mod API, so it WILL be that easy.
Yes, I believe that's correct. I've heard about that for quite some time. It's also to my understanding that Eventually for server mods, only the admin will need to install the mod for all players to use it on that server. Does anyone have confirmation on that?
