So, I was making a city on the server I play on, and I had an idea, that I would put down stone half blocks to represent the ceiling of the first floor, and then wood half blocks on top to make the floor of the second. But that doesn't work.
Has anyone else thought of this idea, to make different half-blocks compatible?
I think its a good idea, and I was wondering who else would support it, so maybe we could suggest it for further updates!
Thanks
The problem with having half blocks being interchangeable is that, due to the way minecraft is programmed, you would need a separate block id for each combination of slabs. Thus there would be about 20-ish variations of double slabs that would all have to be programmed in separately.
well, that would be a problem, but they could subdivide it like with the wool colors, where they're all the same item ID, but they have different values, something that differentiates them from each other.
I don't know about gamemaking, but this could be a possible solution to that problem.
