a;so sky lands boss; Phatorious
^8-bit image of him^
Phatorious was a relic of the skyland (which in my idea is full of ruins) but she was the spirit of a great fallen Valkyrie trapped in the statue of Oreonious his cultures god, as Phatorious waited in the statue she became bitter towards her society, she watch their sinful nature and resented ever being part of them and she saw how they fell when the creatures came, and through all her resentment was hatred for even though her society had failed her she hated the creatures 10 fold as they destroyed her world that her culture ruled most of their advanced technology and great magics had been destroyed or forgotten and her people had been enslaved and brought out into an oozing portal of the night sky. now she waits for some creature to bring her her freedom and she knows not to make the mistake of her people by welcoming the visitor any who come to her shall be slain for she is the only being who has the knowledge of the sacred keys location.
When you first go to Phatorious' domain all is silent and peaceful but when you approach the altar in which Oreonious' statue stands it comes to life as Phatorious her do main consists of a large island with many small floating islands above it;
the island contain shards of Acarcia which is the name of her domain and when you destroy them it weakens her ie-normal attack does 6 hearts after two shard are destroyed it only does 5 hearts. (shards are optional)
Phatorious has 10 hearts and 5 more after the fake end.
Phatorious flies around the map very quickly but stops in place to cast spells.
attacks; Phatorious cand do several attacks;
lightning bolt- 4 heats does not work if player is not on ground 3 second cast
Warrior's wraith- 3 hearts Phatorious charges at you. Physical attack
Whirlwind- 1/2 heart knocks player 5-8 blocks away randomly instant cast
Sleet storm- 1/2 heart constantly last about 30 seconds and takes 10 seconds to cast
When desperate (5 hearts gone);
Hail Mary- 5 hearts throws a large hail ball at the player 4 seconds to cast
mana burst- 4 hearts a burst of energy erupts in a 4 block radius from her and lasts 20 seconds 8 second cast
when you defeat her 10 hearts she falls to the main island and nothing appears to happen but when you approach her the stone statue shell bursts off and she attack with half the cast speeds and +1 heart on all attacks except sleet storm.
Re-life Phatorious attacks;
blind- no damage but brightens area so bright there's just a white ball around her 2 second cast
season storm- 2 hearts every 5 seconds lasts 15 seconds looks like sleet storm but also has both rain snow and random lightning bolts mixed in.
final burst- mana burst -6 hearts a burst but only 2 block radius around her.
when she actually dies she crashes to the ground and bursts into pieces which fly everywhere before fling back to the temple and reasembling into her staue but with a chest in front of it.
want to know any info just ask.
not to try to stomp on your idea, but I had one recently that isn't a bird or dragon. The image will take a little while to make so the post will come later, but overall not a bad idea :smile.gif: .
Actually, I had this dream of what the water dimension boss could be, and it was number 3.
The guardian is encased in evil looking corals, the guardian is knocked out, and the coral like thing is using his powers, that's all I could think of at the time, and I'm waiting for W.D. daughter thread too flesh it out. Also maybe it could be called the Coral Construct
Anyways, the skyworld should probably look very beautiful. But maybe when think about it, it's actually a horrifying place.
Hope I don't re-kindle conflict between you two, but I don't think we can change which type each of the bosses is, or else you have two dead ones, one guardian, and a destroyed end weapon.
I think it should be organized like this:
Dimensional Boss (type 1)
1st Dimensional Mini-Boss (type 3)
2nd and/or 3rd Dimensional Mini-Bosses (type 2)
This plays off of what Delta said in that the guardian can't control the monster, and shows the ever-present threat of the end corruption.
Is this a plausible compromise???

In some situations, type 3 is very strong, sometimes once the guardian is controlled, it's armed and strengthened.
a large ancient creature made of counter rotating disks and diamonds. It has two large jewels on its body (front and back) and it's eye can jump between the two, making its only weakspot very hard to reach. Its large wings aren't necessary for its flight, but they allow it to grab things and turn more quickly.
During the battle , it floats 4 blocks off the ground, around the dead, cloud-like landscape, sometimes drifting to an island with Skyther fauna. It will even go under the island, completely avoiding the player unless they have a cloud, glider, or grapple.
s
It attacks the player by; touching you, laying horizontally 2 blocks off the ground and spinning towards you, grabbing you with its tentacles and throwing you, spawning Gargoyles, or shooting a lazer from it's eye.
Raming you does normal Zombie damage
Spinning does 1/2 a heart every second he touches you(can be avoided by crouching)
Grabbing does a heart of damage, and then you take fall damage when you hit the ground.
Gargoyles are a neutral mob that rarely ever move, typically going only 10 blocks from their original spawn, that act like endermen in that, when you hit them, they charge you.
They attack by dive bombing you, and ramming you, or if near a liquid, they will scoop it up and drop it on you (hope to God its Purine). Out of the boss' realm, they can be tamed with stone bricks and when they sit, and you run a liquid behind them, they project it through them and spill it out 2 blocks away (a decorative mob :tongue.gif: ), but if a monster gets too close, it will re-direct the liquid so it hits the mob.
Shooting the lazer causes him to become immobile for the duration of the lazer, but if it hits you, it slows you, does 2 hearts a second, and leaves a short burn, so be careful.
The arena features many floating islands with strong winds between them, allowing you to "swim" from some of the islands to another, while others have ancient bridges. The fortress lies behind the portal, where lies the summoner, maybe a large bell??? When it appears, it makes a clanking sound that slowly gets louder until beams of energy start to bubble and come together and form the Overworlder. (on the map it is not drawn to scale).
When it spawns, the Overworlder is encased in a protective electrical shield that can't be penetrated. To lower it, you must activate the pillars with some new portal starter. The result is (Greek (can't call it that))fire appearing along the towers 4 sides all the way to the top, if the Overworlder gets near the flame, its shields deactivate and if it touches it, it catches fire and takes damage until its shield recharges in 30 seconds. You must repeat this process 5 times before his shield is down permanently.
When you kill him, his jewels fracture and shatter, and his gears blow apart in a fiery explosion, hurting you if you aren't careful. He drops 500xp, the skyther key, and some unique item. Don't worry if he dies off a cliff, because winds at the bottom will re-deposit them in the middle island (not you though).
I think every dimension needs a mode of transportation, especially the skylands. The overworld is easy to travel on foot, but the nether obviously needs lavaboats or something. The transportation in the water dimension is scuba right now, and the skylands has... riding cloads and birds? We need better sky travel, two new ways:
Glider - fast gliders, the rider is forced to keep moving, they fall at an average rate of 1 block per three blocks glided. Controls:
W - dive, it increeses the fall rate to 1 block per block traveled, but it speeds up a lot. The built up speed can help go further afterwards.
A snd D - turn, obviously, it turns slowly and leans to the side.
S - Lift, it goes up, but slows down a ton, if it's really slow, it can't go up, only resist gavity for a short time. If the glider slows too much, it falls strait to the ground.
The glider controls are pretty obvious, and gliders have teirs. Not a lot of teirs, higher teirs have more speed, handling, and lift. Higher teirs can also inflict more damage to things hit by the glider, and have higher resistance to collision damage.
Balloons - large hot air balloons, they require feul to stay aloft, but they can travel infinitely. Unlike in gliders, combat is difficlt in a hot air balloon, the best way to fight is with a bow. Hot air balloons can take damage, and a ton of knockback.
Arrow keys are the same in balloons as land, and at the same speed. Holding the spacebar makes the balloon go up, but it also consumes some feul, feul is consumed by a furnace, part of the balloon. Above the rider's head is the furnace, they can put feul in by right clicking it to open its GUI, where it consumes feul at half the rate as a furnace. Feul is only consumed when spacebar is held.
Balloons have no teirs, they're closer to a utility than glinders are to a tool.

maybe we can keep minecraft a sandbox game and NOT a rpg???? i think this is a dumb idea altho it would be AMAZING to have a game like this i just dont think minecraft can go that way... jeb said he will probably be adding more demensions or biomes but i dont think he will be adding 20 new ones just to beat a game (witch is pointless becuase all you get is 10minuite subtitles) so i disagree with this maybe you can learn java and make this a mod or make your own game but i highly doubt this will EVER be implemented

Read the OP, this is eventually going to be turned into a mod. :smile.gif:
The point of adding extra dimensions is not making it an RPG, but adding 'stages' to the game. I don't really know why people don't understand that. As you progress and expand your kingdom, you acquire the ability to travel through different dimensions, letting you get more items and tools to have fun with. It's still sandbox, but you have to work towards goals until you're able to get every resource in the game. From punching down your first tree, to getting to bedrock, to finding diamonds, to getting to the Nether... There's almost always another goal to work for, to get more resources to play with.
And you're kind of right about nearly 20 dimensions, though.
Currently, it's:
Overworld -> Overworld boss domain
(2 possible miniature side 'dimensions', i.e. a cave world where there's no surface)
Nether -> Nether boss domain
(2 possible miniature side 'dimensions', i.e. a crust or surface of the Nether)
Water Dimension -> Water boss domain
(2 possible miniature side 'dimensions', i.e. underground oceans)
Sky Dimension -> Sky boss domain
(2 possible miniature side 'dimensions', i.e. outer atmosphere)
The End -> Enderdragon's domain
So total, there's 5 major dimensions, 5 boss dimensions, and 8 possible side dimensions... Making 18 total dimensions.
Very good explanation, except he's probably never going too read it.
Well i have a couple ideas for the Nether. how about a nether ore? with a name like netherite or something like that. it would be rarer then iron and harder to get to because the nether is dangerous.
for the water dimension i think it should be called The Deep.
it could be made by making a portal out of Lapis Block underwater.
the boss could be a shark. Notch said he doesnt want sharks in the game because it would be too fast to deal with, but as a boss it would have to be pretty fast and powerful.
For a Nether boss what about a devil? it could shoot fireballs and be 5 blocks tall. it wouldnt take any damage from fire or lava but would move pretty slowly.
And everyone knows the enderdragon egg is useless and having it hatch your own dragon would be too powerful. so what if you could us an enderdragon egg to activate a portal to somewhere?

Also, due to some personal stuff, I won't be posting as often as I used to.
I will still be monitoring the thread, so I will see most of the ideas posted in the thread, but my posting rate will be reduced a bit.
We have noticed several problems: First, people keep thinking it is a vanilla suggestion (if possible we should move it to the forum of 'mod suggestions'). Second, people don't read the OP where it says 'we don't want a horribly overpowered dimension, even if it needs diamond blocks to get to,' and where it says 'we aren't suggesting side dimensions right now.' If possible, you could put those in big text at the top of the OP.
Also, in the green banner at the top of the thread, organising is actually spelled with a z instead of an s (edit: if you are in america)
If Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter were all destroyed, 90% of teens would go insane. If you're one of the 10% that would be laughing at them, copy this into your signature and hope it happens.

I really hate how people use "THIS IS MINECRAFT NOT ___________" as an argument against anything and everything. Is everything that could ever possibly be added to MC an RPG element that will turn MC into an RPG with just that one feature?
Oh, and also, read the OP and learn proper grammar.
