Not to copy or anything, but I had a really weird dream lasts night. It was really long but something that only lasted for like 10 sec jumped out at me the most. I hope you guys like the idea for a nether boss. Also hope its not too dragon-like...
It should be consistent with the other bosses so far that have pillars somehow vital in defeating the boss.

Minecraft makes me feel like I'm three. Playing with blocks and afraid of the dark.
Too repetitve, it's best to avoid repeating boss methods.
Not necessarily. The enderdragon and the suggested behemoth are very different bosses but revolve around a similar concept for the purposes of consistency.
We have got that for the overworld boss, you use pillars to summon lightning which stuns him and deals damage. You can capitalize on this and then deal more damage while he is down.
I know that, which is why I am saying that it is important. You should want consistency in a game. Either make all the bosses have completely different methods or have all the bosses have a theme. If you have towers vital to the defeat of both the enderdragon and the behemoth, then the hell borer should also require towers to defeat. This does not mean it has to be in the same way, in fact it is important that they are defeated in different ways, but all should revolve around a similar concept. Hence, towers for the Hell Borer.

We probably need to put that one sentence of the OP in mega-size font, underlined and bold :wink.gif:
Along with "This is a mod idea, not a vanilla addition"

The geysers were going to serve that purpose, but if you want, the geyser blocks could be on the top of small pillars and face in 4 directions and you activate all of them by placing 1 water in a depression in the top that links with them. Although, only one was going to be necessary, the rest optional, for my original idea, could this still work???

Probbably better to keep the original, it's not nesessary to make pillars involved with every boss. In fact, it would be a little boring to use pillars in all of them. I'll make it broader, every main boss requires you to use landmarks to defeat them, the landmarks can be any structure or part of the terrain that stands out.
You should probbably repost a more organised version of your suggestion, so no one has to fear a block of text without headings.

Hell Borer
The Hell Borer is a large dragon-like-worm. It has the head of a Chinese dragon, except with a more hooked snout, and a 5 segmented body. The 5 segments slowly decrease in size from the head to the tail, which ends in a point. The segments are separated by 1-2 meter flaming, bead(spine) rods. Circling each spine part would be 4-6 claws that spin oppositely the group behind it. The dimensions would be 15x6x4. It would have maybe a 4 block reach for attacking and be able to; ram the player, bite the player, slash at you, tunnel around/underneath you, spit bursts of 5 fireballs in a star, and summon Crawlers.
The Arena:
A large lava tube deep in the nether. The arena is dotted with tunnels already, foreshadowing the boss' existence. The portal is at the end of the lava river, where in the side of the canyon wall is a large nether fortress. You enter the fortress and summon the boss. For a more subtle entrance, it slowly emerges from a side-tunnel and emits a growl, and for a more stunning entrance, it comes out of the lava pool, bending over itself (like Rayquaza's entrance in Brawl for those who have seen it :tongue.gif:).
The goal is to catch the boss with your sword as it flies around the chasm, tunneling through the walls. It's weak points are the spine segments, but arrow assault is impossible, since the spinning arms stop and destroy them. Too slow him down, you use the geysers along the tunnel. The block itself is just netherack with a black hole in it, but when you put a block of water behind it, it shoots out a jet of water 8 blocks high that lasts for 10 seconds. When you step in it, it launches you to the top of the jet doing 1/2 a heart every second, but when the boss touches it, it does minimal damage then stuns it and he crashes onto the ground next to the geyser, leaving him open to attack for a few seconds. The only time that this is necessary is when you have to kill him, this is when he retreats to the source pool for the river, and you have to use the geyser on the wall to kill him, the others are all optional just to speed up the process.
Each time you kill a spine or do enough damage, that segment of spine, or the first one, dies, and all the claws fall to the ground. Could possibly be picked up and used for a drill???
When killed, its eyes disappear (they are white smoke to begin with) and its body turns into a fossil in a poof of flame. If you wanted, you could be stupid and reincarnate it with a necromancy table, but other wise, the lava starts to drain away, then its fossil crumbles into its drops.
Need help with specifics and the physics of this!!!
Please tell me what you think!!!
Also, not sure if this matters, but in the dream, its weakness was supposedly either copper or brass.(there were two dragons, can't remember which was which)

Either make them all involve pillars or make only 1 involve pillars, and the others use different landmarks. I don't understand how it would be boring if each is defeated in a different way. Just because all of them might use pillars doesn't mean they would have to use them the same way.

I've been thinking about this for a while now. The End is exactly what it suggests, the end! But of what, the story or maybe everything, so here are some ideas.
Gravity. Here, physics has just gone out the window, as you jump you may notice yourself going higher than in the Over World, and the compass you accidently brought is pointing up, until in your exploration it slowly starts too point down, your jump height is relative too this.
Durability. Materials seem too deteriorate faster in this dimension, it's whole fabric of existence is thin, all except for magic. Enchanted items don't experience extra deterioration.

Any thoughts?
Here is a confusing explanation of how I see the end to be:
The end is the end of time, but time is infinite, so the end shouldn't exist, but it does, so it's another realm, representing the end of time. The ender race is pure darkness coming from the ender realm, corrupting the other realms with darkness, causing monsters to appear. Over time, the monsters have increased, and the ender race ishave corrupted much our realms, especially the nether. You set out on a quest, to destroy the threat of the enderdragon, and put an end to the increase in corruption. When the enderdragon is defeated, all is not restored, the monsters remain, but you've saved the future, because in a few million years the corruption of the ender race will have completely deminished.

So if two bosses have a small thing in common, every other boss must have that too?

Why is everyone obsessed with "darkness"? Darkness isn't some sort of mythical evil.
Interesting. In my opinion the ender should be a terror dimension. Everything there plays with your emotions and skills to make sure all the skills you have learn't so far go to waste.
Example: Endermen, curiosity can kill you.
Ender-lizards (my idea for a Nether End mob): Will attack you if it sees you attacking any other mob.
What I'm saying is you have a good back story while I have a good idea for the finer detail.
Maybe we should start a list of Mob ideas that would work in the Ender. A while back in another post someone had the idea of a white spider which would attack you but could only hear you. E.g. If you where mining it would find you a lot quicker.
I agree that there should be ender mobs in every dimension, but I think they would not attack you until you provoked them, although how you provoke them can vary. Also, They should all be able to teleport, otherwise it wouldn't make sense that they drop teleporting enderpearls. Obviously, they would all be black with purple eyes.

Yes. It is called consistency and is a key ingredient in a professional game of any kind.
Have you ever played the game Set? It is comparable to that.
I'm going to settle this.
LANDMARKS will be used
PILLARS will be used
The actual object that helps with the boss is a 1 block object that sits on the pillars (not all worlds will have huge pillars, like the nether's will only be 1-2 tall, and be gradual/rounded).
Is this cool with everyone?

I saw it, I own the game. And it makes no sense, why would Raquaza live in a lake!? Raquaza should be in the ozone layer!
